1.I will have to disagree about the...From Minoria:<br /><br />1.I will have to disagree about the Josephus passage.There are <b>2 passages in Josephus that mention Jesus</b>.<br /><br />One says <b>"James,brother of Jesus,the one called the Messiah"</b> and practically all or all Josephus scholars accept it as genuine.<br /><br />2.The other is the one which,according to <b>Louis Feldman,Jewish,and the top Josephus scholar,75% of all Josephus experts(including Feldman)</b>,accept in a modified form.<br /><br />3.One argument given against it is that <b>Origen(184-253)</b> and martyr,who read Josephus,never mentions it in his book in favor of Jesus<b>(Contra Celsus)</b>,against the book against Jesus by the <b>pagan philosopher Celsus(2nd century).</b><br /><br />And that nor do other Christian writers who <b>wrote before Eusebius</b>,they never mention that passage,so it never existed at all,supposedly.<br /><br />Now Ehrman in his book <b>"Did Jesus Exist?"(pages 59-66) he says that argument is not</b> convincing for the following reason:<br /><br />The modified form of the passage that is believed by the majority of experts to be the original does <b>NOT have anything in it that would be of great use to Christian apologists.</b><br /><br />I WILL EXPLAIN<br /><br />Notice that none of the writers of ANTIQUITY ever said:"Jesus did NOT exist."<br /><br />When they wrote against the Christians they never denied Jesus had died by crucifixion,that he had been condemned by the Jews.Citing the Josephus passage would have made sense if <b>like TODAY</b>,there were people denying Jesus ever lived.<br /><br />Now if the original passage had something like:<br /><br /><b>"The sky became dark for many hours during Jesus' crucifixion"</b><br /><br />Or<br /><br /><b>"A bright star appeared over Bethlehem when Jesus was born"</b><br /><br />then in THAT case the Christian writers before Eusebius would have cited the passage.<br /><br />Ehrman also notes that a <b>former student of his,Ken Olson,Phd</b>,has written an argument based on the style of Josephus,that even the modified version would be a <b>forgery by Eusebius based on a comparison with Eusebius writings.</b><br /><br />However,Ehrman says a careful analysis of his arguments show he is wrong,and that <b>scholars J.
