Speaking of the 7th century, Diarmaid McCulloch tells us Christians were praying like Muslims before the coming of Islam:

…the characteristic prostration of Muslim prayer was then normal in the Christian Middle East, where it still survives in some traditional Christian communities. Prayer mats, still one of the most familiar features of the mosque today, were extensively used by the Christian monks as far apart as Syria and Northumbria or Ireland before the coming of Islam. Why would early Christians pray like Muslims?

Could it have anything to do with Prophet Jesus (p) worshipping God in the manner in which Muslims pray? In fact, even Christian sources point to this:

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” [Matthew 26: 39, NIV]

Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. “Abba,[a] Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” [Mark 14:35-36, NIV]

Apart from the glaring theological problem which Trinitarians encounter from such passages (i.e. that of Jesus worshipping God!) we can clearly see that Jesus appears to pray in the manner of the Muslims according to Christian sources. Thus, from these passages we can understand the usage of prayer mats within Christian communities prior to the coming of Islam.

Note: The word Father (Abba) is simply a Jewish term for God. It is not to be taken literally, Professor Geza Vermes writes: Jesus prayed there in the solitude, invoking God as ‘Abba’, ‘Father’ or My Father’. The word is given in Aramaic in Mark and in Greek in Matthew and Luke. Abba is a familiar but also respectful expression. It is not the equivalent of ‘Daddy’, as some New Testament scholars have unwisely ventured to propose. [‘Jesus’ Nativity-Passion-Resurrection, Geza Vermes, Penguin books, 2008, p. 208]

What Is The Exact Date Of Prophet Muhammad's Birth?

It is not possible to ascertain the exact date of the Prophet’s birth. He is said to have been born about fifty-five days after Abraha’s attack on Makkah and in the fortieth year of reign of Chosroes Anusharwan of Persia. The birth is also said to have taken place in the year of third breaking of the Marib dam, situated some sixty miles east of Sana in Yemen and a centre of large irrigation system at the time. From these and other information, the year of the Prophet’s birth is taken as 570 or 571. Generally, the Western scholars quote the year 570 and the Eastern scholars 571.

How old was Mary when Betrothed/Married to Joseph? At what age was Mary pregnant with Jesus?

Earnest inquiry as to the age of Mary at the time of her betrothal (and marriage) to Joseph as well as the virginal conception (and birth) of Jesus (p) is clouded by the revisionist claims of Christian evangelists who are intent on representing a 21st century understanding of such customs. This is another reason why consulting scholarship in any enquiry is of paramount importance. Here we have the Jesus scholar, Professor Geza Vermes, breaking the barriers of evangelical revisionism with proper contextualisation of suchlike.

Christians and Jews: Arranged Marriages

Arranged marriages were the norm within Jewish societies prior to and contemporaneous to Jesus’ time. Thus, scholars like Geza Vermes are led to believe Mary’s betrothal to Joseph would have been arranged by a male relative at a young age.

To begin with betrothal, in Matthew (as in Luke) Joseph and Mary are said to be engaged. To appreciate properly the meaning of betrothal, it is to be remembered that in the Jewish society of the age of Jesus, arranged marriage was the established custom. The betrothal of a young girl was the prerogative of her father. If the father was no longer alive, his place was taken by the girl’s brother or some other male relative. The head of the family negotiated the financial settlement with the groom and his parents. The girl had no say whatever in the matter.

Betrothal of minors was a Jewish norm

Contrary to some of the apologetic material emanating from various Christian ministries, standard Jewish practice at the time was the betrothal of minors – females attained maturity at the age of twelve.
Quite apart from the subordinate status of women in Jewish Law, in the rabbinic era and no doubt earlier too, the bride-to-be was by definition a minor, a person not yet of age. It should be noted that in the Mishnaic-Talmudic legislation girls attained majority when they started to menstruate, or on the day after their twelfth birthday, whichever came first. In the rabbinic perspective, majority and attainment of puberty were coterminous. By the age of twelve years and six months a young woman became, in the terminology of the rabbis ‘mature’ (bogeret), and was expected already to be married. In any case, by then her father no longer had the right unilaterally to betroth her.

Vermes: Mary was no more than twelve (12) or a little younger

Again, cutting through some of the evangelical revisionism, according to Geza Vermes, Mary would have been twelve years of age (or a little less) at the time of her betrothal/marriage to Joseph and at the time of her giving birth to Jesus (p)

Once the preliminary requirements laid down in the agreement of betrothal were satisfied, nuptials followed: they were presumed to take place within twelve months from the date of agreement. Then the bridegroom led his bride to his own home amid solemn festivities attended by family, friends and neighbours. The Gospels contain various parables about Jewish weddings (see for example Mt 25:1-13). It would follow from these rules, which appear standard and long standing, and not some kind of innovation by the redactors of the Mishnah, that at the time of the incidents described in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, Mary was no more than twelve years old or conceivably a little less, and by the standards of her society and age, mature enough for marriage

Jesus’ views + Christian fundamentalist hypocrisy and folly

Christian evangelists should note there is no recorded condemnation of such practices from Jesus thus suggesting Jesus gave (at the very least) tacit approval of such marital customs.

Some of the riff-raff amongst Christian evangelists readily de-contextualise the marriages of Muhammad (p) to Aisha (ra) in order to direct an intellectually dishonest character-assassination attempt of Prophet Muhammad (p) yet fail to recognise this marriage was in similar vein to the Jewish customs at the time of Jesus. These evangelists fail to attack the Jews for such practices whilst attacking Muslims and Mormons (Joseph Smith) for the same custom.

Further still, the riff-raff amongst Western Christian evangelists fail to attack their fellow ‘Bible-believing’ forefathers as they were following similar marital customs:

Age is an additional requirement. Every jurisdiction mandates that a man and a woman must be old enough to wed. In the 1800s, the legal age was as low as 12 years old for females. Modern statutes ordinarily provide that females may marry at age 16 and males at age 18. Sometimes a lower age is permitted with the written consent of the parents. Christian Voice is clearly demonstrating Christian fundamentalism is live and kicking in the UK. Christian Voice is encouraging Christians throughout the UK to monitor council websites for mosque planning permissions so their lawyer can use a ‘winning formula’ to defeat these planning permissions.

TFAI would like to recommend that Stephen Green and his Christian Voice recommend their Islamophobic brigade of Christians actually ‘keep a weather-eye’ for Bible manuscripts, perhaps those dull enough to devote hours on council websites in the hope of thwarting mosque planning permissions would have enough gumption to trek off to the rubbish heaps at Oxyrhynchus (Egypt) and re-search them for Bible fragments. Robert Tressell's Description of 'Christians' Lives On...

They believed that the Bible was the word of God, but they didn't know where it came from, how long it had been in existence, who wrote it, who translated it or how many different versions there were. Most of them were totally unacquainted with the contents of the book itself. But all the same, they believed it - after a fashion. The remarkable thing is, Robert Noonan's (aka Robert Tressell 1870-1911) description characterizes so many Christians still to this day despite the proliferation of scholarly material on the Bible, textual criticism and the like.

Who benefits from having lay Christians devoid of any meaningful knowledge of the Bible?

Recently, I had the displeasure of encountering two 'Bible-believing' Christians who were carbon copies of the unlearned, obnoxious, right-winged American Christian fundamentalists we so often pour scorn upon, the twist being, these two 'Bible-believers' were British. Looks like the infection of American fundamentalism is affecting Christians worldwide along with the persistent problem of ignorance of the Bible and Christianity.

Somebody somewhere is laughing all the way to the bank...

What does ‘Son of God’ mean in the Hebrew Bible?

We’ve all been subjected to evangelical Trinitarian Christian material; the more you look into their claims the more you realize how far off the mark they are. The mere fact that there exists CHRISTIANS, who do not believe Jesus is God, is enough to spark further study of THEIR proof texts – the Bible. Here we can ponder upon the way evangelical Trinitarian Christians misuse the term ‘son of God’ whilst attempting to convince Muslims (and others) that a man (Prophet Jesus) is God Almighty.

The Jesus scholar, Geza Vermes, lifts the lid on the term 'Son of God' and what it actually means rather than the stuff churned out by evangelical Trinitarian Christians.

Common knowledge: ‘Son of god’ is figurative not literal

It is common knowledge that before the New Testament, the Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls regularly speak of ‘Sons of God’ and occasionally refer to God in figurative speech as ‘begetting’ or ‘procreating’ a human being. [1]

‘Son of God’ used for ANY Jewish male who was pious

In the Bible and in writings produced during the centuries that followed the completion of the Old Testament, ‘Son of God’ occurs in a variety of meanings. In addition to the angels already discussed, among the humans ‘Son of God’ was the title of anyone believed in some way to be linked to God. Every male Israelite could pride himself on being a ‘son of God’, and reciprocally he was in a position to call God his Father. In the course of time the phrase was also applied – more and more restrictively – to the good Jews, to the especially holy Jews, culminating with the king of the Jews and finally with the Messiah, the most holy and powerful future ruler of Israel about whom we read in the Florilegium, one of the Dead Sea Scrolls, ‘I will be his Father and he shall be my Son. He is the Branch of David’ [2]

‘Son of God’ NEVER referred to a ‘man god’

Trinitarian Christians who promote Jesus to the status of God are found wanting with regards to the basic term ‘son of God’ as the scholar confirms the term does not refer to their idea of Jesus.
…It is universally agreed among experts that in Judaism the phrase [‘Son of God’] is always used metaphorically; it never designates a person who is believed to be simultaneously man and God, a human being who also shares in some way divine nature. [3]

Christian misinterpretation of Psalms

Here is another important point to be aware of whilst dialoguing with Trinitarian Christians, you may have come across some Christian missionaries citing Psalm 2:7 whilst proclaiming it as a verse denoting deity of Jesus; however, the Jesus scholar – Geza Vermes – highlights their misinterpretation

The Jewish king, while the monarchy existed down to 586 BC, and the awaited royal Messiah after the Babylonian exile, were systematically portrayed as engendered by the Deity: You are my son, today I have begotten you’, we read in Psalm 2:7 [4]

Astronomers have spotted an exotic planet that seems to be made of diamond racing around a tiny star in our galactic backyard.

The new planet is far denser than any other known so far and consists largely of carbon. Because it is so dense, scientists calculate the carbon must be crystalline, so a large part of this strange world will effectively be diamond.

CHICO, Calif. (CBS/KOVR) Three years ago, Kevin Schatz and his wife Elizabeth did something so noble, a local television station featured them; the pair decided to adopt three children from Liberia. Now, they're accused of killing one of the children because she mispronounced a word.

Prosecutors say that the California couple used quarter-inch plastic tubing to beat their seven-year-old adopted daughter to death.

Apparently, they got the idea from a fundamentalist Christian group, which promotes this as a way of training children to be obedient.

Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey says for several hours the 7-year-old was held down by Elizabeth and beaten dozens of times by Kevin on the back of her body which caused massive tissue damage.

"It was torture," says Ramsey.

Another 11-year-old adopted child was allegedly critically beaten for "being a liar and a bad influence on the 7-year-old."

The District Attorney points to a book written by a Tennessee evangelist named Michael Pearl, who the Schatz's have told police they were following.

Pearl's website, nogreaterjoy.org, suggests "A swift whack with the plastic tubing would sting but not bruise. Give ten licks at a time, more if the child resists."

"This is not a good ole' fashion spanking, it certainly is way beyond that," says Ramsey.

The alleged beating happened on a piece of property in Paradise, Calif., where the three adopted children and the Schatz's six biological children were homeschooled. Paradise is 90 miles north of Sacramento.

The family rarely left, and they even grew their own food there.

If convicted, Kevin and Elizabeth Schatz face life in prison.

Notice the sexual perversion in this Christian man’s words. He wants to make videos of Muslim women? Is this the standard of right-wing Christian bigots in America - perversion? Let's give this pervert a stern rebuke whilst warning of the pornographic mindset of some of the Christian bigots young Muslims are being hounded by. If you are a female and suspect this Christian Islamophobe (or any other) is e-stalking you please do report him and forward his comments to this blog for purposes of further exposure and rebuke.

Muslims should certainly take precautions on the net to avoid people such as this Christian apologist as these people clearly have sex on the mind - strange sexual thoughts. Sadly, I fear this attitude is not simply isolated to this rogue Christian who has also been caught preying on a female (Christian) pastor from Christian TV channel (ABN) in the past. Remember, this is a Christian who defends and promotes Christianity whilst peddling anti-Muslim/Islam rhetoric so we would imagine he is a church-going, right wing Christian. Why do these right-wing Christians show themselves up?

Who is this Islamophobic Christian Pervert?

He goes by the name ‘Radical Moderate’ on blogger and a chat site called Pal Talk. He previously used the name ‘The Fat Man’ (silly name for an obviously silly person). This Christian apologist is a supporter of many Christian ministries including Nabeel Qureshi’s Creed2:6Ministries, James White’s Alpha and Omega Ministries, Anthony Rogers, Acts 17 Apologetics`and Answering Islam. He is also a regular caller and supporter of Bassim Gorial’s Aramaic Broadcasting Network.

This pervert has claimed to have been invited to write for a prominent anti-Islam website by Sam Shamoun, if true, it simply further highlights the link between sexual depravity and the right-winged Anti-Muslim brigade. He also financially supports Islamophobes on the net as well as cheering for them. I guess he is getting his money’s worth if his goal is to become a perverted Christian missionary.

Christian needs help

Muslims should be at the forefront of denouncing and rehabilitating dangerous Christians such as this perverted Christian apologist.

I have tried to help this Christian man previously (via private communication) but his hatred of Muslims, Islam and truth is hindering him. I hope this man seeks help and rethinks his belief system. I suspect he has been deflated by all the posts showing the holes in the Bible and Christian theology, hence any Muslim attempting to help him should bear this in mind.

Jesus Ordered Killing of Apostates According to Christian Theology

Trinitarian Christians believe Jesus to be God whilst believing the whole Bible is inspired by God, thus they clearly believe Jesus ordered the killing of apostates who preach their new faith. Sadly, many Christians do not know of these teachings, Deuteronomy 16:6-9 clearly indicates Christians believe Jesus is orders the killing of apostates who preach a different faith:

6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. 9 You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again. [Deuteronomy 16: 6-9 NIV]

So, according to Christianity, if somebody’s relative turns away from worshipping the Trinity and preaches the worship of “other gods” then they must be put to death. Thus meaning Christianity teaches the killing of ex-Christians who preach a different faith.

Fundamentalist Christians who stick by this teaching would support the killing of converts to Islam (from Christianity) who are currently preaching the worship of God rather than the trinity. Ex-Christian Muslim evangelists such as Yusuf Estes, Joshua Evans, Khalid Yasin, Dr Laurence Brown, Shadeed Lewis, etc. are all potential targets for fundamentalist Christians. Muslim brothers and sisters who are former Christians in America should exercise some caution as judging by the anti-Muslim vitriol stemming from American fundamentalist Christians there is no love nor concern for Muslims in their wicked hearts – their theology of Jesus ordering them to kill people who entice them away from Trinitarianism could well be used as a pretext to literally bash a few Muslims to death!

Destroy whole towns containing apostates

According to Christian theology Jesus orders the killing of all the inhabitants of a town where people have apostatized due to ‘troublemakers’ who preach other gods:

12 If you hear it said about one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you to live in 13 that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known), 14 then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you, 15 you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. You must destroy it completely,[b] both its people and its livestock. 16 You are to gather all the plunder of the town into the middle of the public square and completely burn the town and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God. Christian apologists will say these passages are no longer in use and were limited to Israel. Perhaps Christians who believe these passages are still relevant today and not limited to Israel will be using these Bible references to crack a few ex-christian skulls...

Bigots in the churches who spend their efforts in attacking Muslims would do well to look into Christian theology and the Bible before they talk...

Hopefully, many of you may remember the recent 'Mosquteria' controversy that took place in Toronto just a couple of weeks ago. If not, don't fret! We'll fill you in.

At a Canadian public school, known as the Valley Park Middle School, Muslim students gather for a good 40-50 minutes every week on Fridays, during the school lunch hour break, to observe Friday congregational prayers.

Islam is composed of five essential pillars which cannot be compromised unless under special (or severe) circumstances. One of the five pillars is 'Salah', the ritual prayer that must be performed by Muslims at least five times per day, each at its own specified time. Noon time just happens to be one of the times of day during which Muslims must perform their Salah.

According to Islam one must begin to pray at the age of seven, after which at age ten the child must be steadfast in prayer. An authentic Hadith from Abu Dawood entails the following injunction:

Amr Bin Shuaib reports: The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said: "Command your children to pray as soon as they are seven years old; beat (lightly) them when they are ten, if they do not pray, then separate their beds."

Indeed, one can see from the above statement that the daily Salah is an important tenet of Islam, for the young and old, male and female. Though the students at the Valley Park Middle School may not be able to pray the noon prayer each and every day, they have set aside Friday noon for congregational prayer - a right guaranteed to Canadian students who wish to observe religious prayer. These prayers are paid for and organized by the Muslim community and are not funded by tax dollars as some would like to project.

A secular Hindu (supposedly) man who goes by the name of Ron Banerjee, president of the Canadian Hindu Advocacy, somehow picked up on the news. This apparently irked the man, reasons otherwise known by him, to the point that he rounded up his anti-Muslim friends to protest the student's freedom to observe prayer at school. Setting aside all the drama, fact is no one knows who this man is. In fact the Canadian Hindu Network has stated that it doesn't even know or recognize the Canadian Hindu Advocacy as an affiliate.

Ron Banerjee is obviously trying to score some anti-Muslim brownie points to up his profile and popularity. We kindly ask Ron to sit down and think a moment about what he's doing:

Uncomfortable Conservative Wriggling at Gay Theory

Conservative Christian, James White, looks visibly uncomfortable whilst Bishop John Shelby Spong presents his personal views on Paul. The irony is that this bishop uses personal interpretations of the Bible, similar to the conservative Christians who reject hijab (head covering) despite it being a clear teaching of the New Testament – these personal reinterpretations infuriate Muslims. Speaking of Christians infuriating Muslims by distorting the Bible to reflect their liberal views; Christians have began to reject the clear hand-chopping ruling within Deuteronomy by absurdly using personal reinterpretation to interpret it as meaning chopping off pubic hair rather than the hand!

This is what you get when you have the church full of lovey-dovey Christians; Christians rejecting the head covering, Christians rejecting the Old Testament laws, people claiming Paul was gay etc etc.

Was Paul gay? No.

There is no evidence of Paul being homosexual (gay). The bishop, John Shelby Spong, simply churns out his personal interpretations of the Bible and comes to the liberal belief that Paul was a homosexual. His views are unfounded and simply reflect his fanciful mind. We must remember, bishop Spong believes Paul to be gay, that’s to say he does not consider it to be a fact.

Perhaps the bigoted Christians who busy themselves in propagandizing against Muslims and Islam would like to spend time in refuting the liberal falsehoods emanating from churches…or do they not mind as long as these falsehoods catch fish for the church?

Christians Embarrassed by Bible’s Hand Chopping - Deuteronomy 25:11-12…

We have mentioned the Bible passage teaching the mutilation of any woman who defends her husband against his assailant via a ‘low blow’ to his privates.

"[11] When men fight with one another, and the wife of the one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of him who is beating him, and puts out her hand and seizes him by the private parts, [12] then you shall cut off her hand; your eye shall have no pity.” [RSV Deuteronomy 25:11-12]

Now, it is obvious that this passage is teaching hand chopping for any woman carrying out such a low blow. Dr Hector Avalos points out most scholars agree with the obvious reading of the passage (i.e. chopping off the woman’s hand):

Most scholars accept a literal interpretation. For example, Tikva Frymer-Kensky stated the following on p. 1033 of A History of Ancient Near Eastern Law (2 vols.; Leiden: E. J. Brill, 2003), which Dr. Matt Flannagan had cited before:

“The penalty for injury is talionic retribution (Lev.24:19-20). The exception is the woman who protects her brawling husband by grabbing the other man’s testicles with force...Her hand is to be cut off (Deut. 25:11-12). Intention does not count, even though she tried to save her husband rather than injure the victim.” [1]

As Christians are busying themselves in repackaging their faith they have proceeded to reinterpret their scriptures to circumnavigate the passages which do not chime with Western norms (i.e. the passages they find to be embarrassing).

Ridiculous: It means shave her pubic hair not chop her hand off!

Embarrassed Christian, Dr Paul Copan, has offered an absolutely absurd explanation of Deuteronomy 25:11-12:

“...A more plausible interpretation of the passage is the punishment by depilation (‘you shall shave [the hair of] her groin’), not mutilation.” [1]

This Christian, Dr Copan, describes his explanation as “more plausible”. Is he for real? Does he really think the Biblical term “have no pity” can relate to shaving a woman’s pubic hair???

Moreover, how in the world would shaving a woman’s groin be related to a punishment for her injuring of a man via a low blow???

Christian Terrorists Making the World a Dangerous Place

This week’s news showed Britain to be at a greater risk from terrorism than any other Western nation thanks to the increased threat from Christian terrorist groups from Ireland.

Whenever I hear of people killed by a bombing on the news I assume Christian terrorism is responsible. I acknowledge all terrorists are not Christians BUT most people killed by terrorism are killed by Christian terrorists. Christian state terrorism delivered ‘shock and awe’ to Iraq, Vietnam, Pakistan, Afghanistan and MANY others.

We must not forget Christian nuclear terrorism on Japan (Hiroshima and Nagasaki), though our American Christian apologist friends would state all Christian nuclear butchery was a “necessary” act – it was not “necessary”.

The number of lives taken by Christian terrorism has never been numbered, nor the number of bombs Christian terrorists have dropped on innocent men, women and children. Christian raping and torturing has never been numbered either. Christian support of Israeli terrorism against Palestinians and other Arab people has never been quantified in lives taken.

Christian terrorism leads to Muslim terrorism

Of course Jewish terrorism is funded by Christians but what about Muslim terrorism? What about these nuts who fly planes into buildings or blow up busses in London? Well, it appears Muslim terrorism is reactionary – a product of Christian terrorism. I mean, when you have American Christian terrorists dropping bombs on Muslim heads, or propping up tyrants to subjugate Muslims, some misguided folk amongst a faith which numbers over a billion (Islam) have taken to using similar brutal and indiscriminate methods as Christian terrorists.

They always tell me Christianity is a religion of peace but I see their communities producing so many terrorists, supporting terrorists of other faiths (Jewish) as well as producing imitators (Muslim terrorists) and wonder…

Christians please STOP and CONDEMN the terrorists in your churches

Christian terrorists are making the whole world an unsafe place. I just wish Christian leaders would condemn terrorism, hand out leaflets in their churches to sway Christians away from terrorism, stop funding foreign terrorism (Israel) and stop blaming others (Muslims) for all this terrorism when we all know nobody does terrorism like Christians. Basically, Christians need to get out of denial and begin to reform.

Perhaps people will begin to explore their religious text (Bible) for a reason behind all the Christian terrorist murdering, raping, torturing and general butchering….

Recently, Nabeel Qureshi (or his missionary pals) released a video in which he claims that Zakir Naik challenges those people to debate who are weak in speech and articulating arguments in public. He further claims that Zakir Naik has not responded to the debate offers from David Wood, Sam Shamoun, Jay Smith, James White, and Nabeel himself.

Nabeel Qureshi Misleading Christians via half-truths?

Qureshi appears to offer half-truths (to mislead folk into the opinion that Zakir Naik is afraid of debating Qureshi and his pals?). However, Qureshi does not state the reason why Naik's administration team dismiss debate offers of this nature. The reason being, these Christians are not popular enough, thus Naik's team ruthlessly reject these "debate offers". Sadly, Qureshi does not tell us of this important point. Why?

Christians Realize Zakir Naik is Not Afraid

On August 2, 2011 Didact (MuslimDidact) had a twitter conversation with Dr. James White (Dr.Oakley1689) on this particular subject. Part of the conversation is reproduced below for your perusal (Note: a break in conversation reveals an anomaly in the time stamps):

There you have it! Dr. Zakir Naik is not afraid of debating the likes of Nabeel Qureshi, who by Naik's standards is a neophyte in the apologetics circle as he can't boast an audience of 10,000. Where did David Wood get this so-called fatwa that legalizes 'Thighing'. Would be correct to assume that David Wood is a sexual pervert if he can't produce evidence? After all, just exactly where did he get this 'fatwa' from?

B. '4 Witnesses Needed to Indict a Rapist':

Did David Wood have to scavenge the deepest and darkest depths of the internet to concoct this lie? Where did you get this one from David Wood? What Hadith or Qur'anic literature do yo have to support your sinister assertion?

2) Sam Shamoun's bold declaration that:

A. 'Muslims Are Cancer to Society':

We would have thought that Sam Shamoun, allegedly a priestly man, should follow the example of Christ. Unfortunately, calling 1.7+ billion people on the planet as "cancer to society", does not exactly fit the Biblical Christ description I know. Care to explain your objectionable behaviour Sam? Perhaps an apology is in store for us.

3) Jay Smith's lie:

A. 'Satan is the Creator of Wine':

Did Jay Smith think he could get away with a lie in a televised debate? How could Jay make a major gaffe? Is 'creating enmity' synonymous with 'creation' to him? Time to grow up Jay Smith and do your research than concoct a brilliant lie in the middle of a debate.

4) James Smith's admission:

A. 'The Author of the Book of Hebrews is Unknown':

James White -- a man of heart, spirit, and reflection, but when it comes to trusting Biblical sources it's all about blind faith. Just exactly how does one convey the message of Christianity when the dubious authorship of the Book of Hebrews is unknown in history to us? Nabeel, looks like you have your work cut out for you.

5) Nabeel Qureshi's absurd claim that:

A. 'The Prophet Muhammad was Unsure of His Salvation AND Told People To Pray For Him':

Was he unsure of his salvation Nabeel? Are you sure you aren't mixing up historical events to make your ends meet? Chronology is important you know - it defines the sequence of events in which they take place. Also, where's that Hadith & Qur'anic literature reference where the Prophet Muhammad asked people to pray for him? A little history reading will do you good.

B. 'Consensual Sex With Married Slaves = Rape'

When was consensual sex between two persons ever considered rape? Even if one them happens to be married? Bottom line: consensual sex =/= rape!

Zionists Influenced Anders Behring Breivik?

I believe racism and Christian fascists/bigots on the internet were amongst the influencing factors on the Norwegian Christian terrorist, Anders Behring Breivik. God willing, we shall discuss an anti-Muslim Christian missionary website linked to the Norwegian terrorist in the future.

At this moment in time it would be worth considering Dr David Duke’s (a white supremacist) claims of Jewish extremists influencing Anders Behring Breivik. Dr David Duke does highlight Breivik’s anti-Muslim Zionist influences; Daniel Pipes, Hans Rustad, Robert Spencer and Pam Geller. He even calls Anders Behring Breivik a “protégé” of Daniel Pipes and Hans Rustad!

Much of the anti-Muslim propaganda on the internet does stem from Zionists (be they Christian fundamentalists, Jewish extremists or secular foreign interventionists). The Truth About Ka'b Bin Al Ashraf - Just Assassination/Killing...

The unsavoury mix of bigoted Christian fundamentalists/missionaries and other internet critics of Islam make much out of the episode concerning Ka’b Ibn Al Ashraf’s (alternatively spelled as Kab/Kaab Bin Al-Ashraf) assassination by the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (p), this post offers the ENTIRE story rather than the hybrid of half-baked ‘information’ and nutty Islamophobic propaganda put forward by Christians and other critics of Islam.

If you are one of these folks who gains his/her information concerning Islam from unqualified Christian fundamentalists and/or other critics this may be a little too informative for your liking. However, if you are somebody who genuinely wants to gain a sincere understanding on the assassination of Ka’b Ibn Al Ashraf then this post is geared towards your needs.

The post comprises of excerpts from the world renowned Sheikh Al Mubarakpuri, the American scholar Sheikh Mustafa Zayed’s comments on the subject and a detailed audio lecture by Dr Bashar Shala as well as additional comments in the way of summary and perspective.

Who was Ka’ Ibn Ashraf?

Ka’ bin Ashraf was the most resentful person among the Jews with Islam and the Muslims, he was the most intent on inflicting harm on Allah’s Messenger (p), and the most zealous advocate of waging war against him. He belonged to the Tai’ but his mother was from Banu Nadeer. He was a wealthy man known for his handsomeness, and a poet living in luxury in his fort south east of Madinah at the rear of Banu Nadeer’s habitations. [1]

What did Ka’b ibn al Ashraf do to deserve being killing?

Dr Shala teaches us of the open hatred and animosity Ka’b bin al Ashraf had against Muslims despite having signed a non-aggression treaty with the Muslims. Poets, back then in Arabia, were propaganda tools. After the Muslim victory at the battle of Badr, Ka’b ibn al Ashraf began to insult Prophet Muhammad and Islam as well as inciting violence against Muslims in order to instigate a war with the intent to wipe out the nascent Muslim community. The last stage of Ka’b’s propaganda campaign was to insult the honor of Muslim women.

Sheikh Al Mubarpakpuri writes on Ka’b Al Ashraf’s incitement to war and his general propaganda campaign:

On hearing the news of Badr, he [Ka’b] got terribly frustrated and swore that he would prefer death to life if the news was true. When this was confirmed he wrote poems satirizing Muhammad (p), praising the Quraish and enticing them against the Prophet (p). He then rode to Makkah where he started to activate the fire of war, and kindle the resentment against the Muslims in Madinah…[2]

…He then returned to Madinah to start a fresh campaign of slanderous propaganda that took the form of obscene songs and amorous poems with a view to defaming the Muslim women. At this stage, the situation became unbearable and could no longer be put up with. [3]
Ka’b bin al Ashraf broke the treaty

Dr Bashar Shala mentions the treaty which Ka’b broke included stipulations such as:

1. Jews should be one nation with Muslims

2. Muslims and Jews should advise and protect each other

3. They should have goodness in their treatment of each other.

4. If Muslims are being fought by an enemy then the Jews should side with the Muslims

Yet Ka’b Ibn Al Ashraf BROKE the treaty to such an extent that he sided with the enemies of the Muslims and proceeded to incite a war against the Muslims in order to completely annihilate Muslims!

Dr Shala asks, did Kaab ibn al Ashraf deserve to be killed? The answer he gives is yes. Simply based on the treaty and the fact that Ka’b was inciting war against the Muslims as well as insulting the honor of their women folk.

War and Deceit? Tricking Ka’b and Christian bigots

Dr Bashar Shala does explain the reason behind the necessity to trick Kab ~ 10-11 min stretch.

Some American Christian bigots on the internet make a melodramatic play on the account that the Muslims tricked Ka’b in order to gain the opportunity to kill him. These bigots typically miss that this was within the theatre of war and Ka’b lived in a fort which was heavily defended by guards/servants, hence the tactic of tricking Ka’b into a false sense of security to get him out in the open. During times of declared war, misleading the enemy is accepted by ALL nations including Christian America. The critics’ inconsistency is outlined by Moustafa Zayed:

All martial arts and war tactics are about deceptive techniques to maximize chances for massive blows to the enemy and achieving victory. But when it comes to Muslims it’s crying about moral absolutes vs. expediency. [4]

Why not fight Ka’b rather than assassinate him?

Why not then fight Ibn Al Ashraf in a battle man to man and face to face like the Muslims and the Quraysh did? The reason is that a leader of the hypocrites like Ibn Al Ashraf never attended the battles, yet he publicly plotted and pushed for conspiracies to annihilate the Muslims, only from the safety behind closed doors. [5]

Islamophobic Propaganda: Killed a POET in a curb against freedom of speech!!!

From the information within Dr Bashar Shala’s lecture we learn the manner in which critics portray the incident is misleading to say the least. Robert Spencer is scolded by Sheikh Mustafa Zayed for such misreporting:

Another piece of misinformation is that [Ka’b] Ibn Al Ashraf was only just a poet! Is the author [Robert Spencer] saying that to make it a freedom-of-speech crime? Maybe he is! [6]

…What the author didn’t tell you about our peaceful, just voicing-his-opinion poet, is that he was one of the provokers of the infidels in Mecca that directed the torture, the starvation and the killing of early Muslims, and specifically was one of the leading instigators to push Quraysh and its leaders to go and destroy the Muslims in the battle of Uhud. [7]

…Our lovely poet was one of the conspirators. In Islamic law and any fair law for that matter, if someone gave himself the right to take your life, then he had given you the right to take his same instant in self-defense…not to mention that Ibn Al Ashraf had committed suicide by putting a “wanted” sign over his head when he violated the honorable reputation of the Muslim wives. [8]

A bonus: miracle of healing

Typically the critics miss the healing miracle of the Muslim who was wounded during the assassination of Ka’b bin Al Ashraf:

The group of men came back after fulfilling their mission. One of them Al-Harith bin Aws was wounded by mistake with the swords of his men, and was bleeding badly. When they reached Baqi’ Al-Gharqad, they shouted “Allah is Most Great”. The Prophet (p) heard them and realized that they had killed the enemy of Allah. As they saw him, he said: “Cheerful faces are yours.” In reply, they said: “And yours, O Messenger of Allah.” They handed the head of the tyrant over to him. He entertained Allah’s praise for their success. He then applied his saliva to Al-Harith’s wound and it healed on the spot. [9]

The Bible and Christian Hypocrisy

Many of these critics are Christian missionaries and/or Christian bigots who feign offense at such an incident. Sadder still, these Christians do this despite knowing of the violent teachings within the Old Testament which would propel these Christians into the realms of inconsistency (hypocrisy). I’m sure Christians and Muslims can think of their own Bible verse (s) (involving killing) which would illustrate the point of inconsistency, here is one which does it quite adequately despite not even involving death:

If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity. [Deuteronomy 25:11-12 NIV]

If our Christian friends can accept the amputating of a woman who helps her husband in a fight with another man by attacking her husband’s assailant via a ‘low blow’ then they can certainly accept the killing of a poet who broke a peace treaty whilst attempting to incite the enemy to destroy Muslims!

Conclusion

The killing of Kab bin al Ashraf was not simply the killing of a “poet”. Sadly, we are being misinformed by Christian “experts” with dubious agendas of conversion and propaganda.

Did The Prophet Know He Was Going to Heaven? The Qur'an Gives The Answer!

Time and again we've been faced with strange, inane claims made by Christian missionaries with clear intentions to defame Islam. Within the last year Nabeel Qureshi claimed that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was oblivious to whether he'd be granted entry into heaven or not. He alleges that there exists a dissatisfaction in comfort that comes with Islam, because one ultimately does not know his end, including the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Unfortunately Nabeel's babble comes to a direct halt when faced with one of the most beautiful Surah's in the Quran: Surah Al-Kauther (or Al-Kawther). We have taken the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir and reproduced it below from IslamBasics, which clearly indicate the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will reside in heaven, no questions asked:

The Tafsir of Surat Al-Kawthar

(Chapter - 108)

Which was revealed in Al-Madinah and They also say in Makkah

[بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـنِ الرَّحِيمِ ]

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

[إِنَّآ أَعْطَيْنَـكَ الْكَوْثَرَ - فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ - إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الاٌّبْتَرُ ]

(1. Verily, We have granted you Al-Kawthar.) (2. Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice.) (3. For he who hates you, he will be cut off.)

Muslim, Abu Dawud and An-Nasa'i, all recorded from Anas[1] that he said, "While we were with the Messenger of Allah in the Masjid, he dozed off into a slumber. Then he lifted his head smiling. We said, `O Messenger of Allah! What has caused you to laugh' He said,

«لَقَدْ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيَّ آنِفًا سُورَة»

(Verily, a Surah was just revealed to me.)

Then he recited,

[إِنَّآ أَعْطَيْنَـكَ الْكَوْثَرَ - فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ - إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الاٌّبْتَرُ ]

(Verily, We have granted you Al-Kawthar. Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice. For he who hates you, he will be cut off.)

Then he said,

«أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْكَوْثَرُ؟»

(Do you all know what is Al-Kawthar)

We said, `Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said,

«فَإِنَّهُ نَهَرٌ وَعَدَنِيهِ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ،عَلَيْهِ خَيْرٌ كَثِيرٌ، هُوَ حَوْضٌ تَرِدُ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، آنِيَتُهُ عَدَدُ النُّجُومِ فِي السَّمَاءِ، فَيُخْتَلَجُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْهُمْ
فَأَقُولُ: رَبِّ إِنَّهُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي، فَيَقُولُ: إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثَ بَعْدَك»

(Verily, it is a river that my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has promised me and it has abundant goodness. It is a pond where my Ummah will be brought to on the Day of Judgement. Its containers are as numerous as the stars in the sky. Then a servant of Allah from among them will be (prevented from it) and I will say: "O Lord! Verily, he is from my Ummah (followers).'' Then He (Allah) will say: "Verily, you do not know what he introduced (or innovated) after you.)''[2]

This is the wording of Muslim. Ahmad recorded this Hadith from Muhammad bin Fudayl, who reported from Al-Mukhtar bin Fulful, who reported it from Anas bin Malik.[3]

Imam Ahmad also recorded from Anas that the Messenger of Allah said,

«دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِنَهْرٍ حَافَتَاهُ خِيَامُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ، فَضَرَبْتُ بِيَدِي إِلَى مَا يَجْرِي فِيهِ الْمَاءُ، فَإِذَا مِسْكٌ أَذْفَرُ، قُلْتُ: مَاهَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟ قَالَ: هَذَا الْكَوْثَرُ الَّذِي أَعْطَاكَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَل»

(I entered Paradise and I came to a river whose banks had tents made of pearls. So I thrust my hand into its flowing water and found that it was the strongest (smell) of musk. So I asked, "O Jibril! What is this'' He replied, "This is Al-Kawthar which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic has given you.'')[4]

Al-Bukhari recorded this in his Sahih, and so did Muslim, on the authority of Anas bin Malik. In their version Anas said, "When the Prophet was taken up to the heaven, he said,

«أَتَيْتُ عَلَى نَهْرٍ حَافَتَاهُ قِبَابُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمُجَوَّفِ فَقُلْتُ: مَا هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟ قَالَ: هَذَا الْكَوْثَر»

(I came to a river whose banks had domes of hollowed pearl. I said: "O Jibril! What is this'' He replied: "This is Al-Kawthar.'')''[5] This is the wording of Al-Bukhari.

Ahmad recorded from Anas that a man said, "O Messenger of Allah! What is Al-Kawthar'' He replied,

«هُوَ نَهْرٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَعْطَانِيهِ رَبِّي، لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ، فِيهِ طُيُورٌ أَعْنَاقُهَا كَأَعْنَاقِ الْجُزُر»

(It is a river in Paradise which my Lord has given me. It is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. There are birds in it whose necks are (long) like carrots.)

`Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah! Verily, they (the birds) will be beautiful.'' The Prophet replied,

«آكِلُهَا أَنْعَمُ مِنْهَا يَا عُمَر»

(The one who eats them (i.e., the people of Paradise) will be more beautiful than them, O `Umar.)[6]

Al-Bukhari recorded from Sa`id bin Jubayr that Ibn `Abbas said about Al-Kawthar, "It is the good which Allah gave to him (the Prophet).'' Abu Bishr said, "I said to Sa`id bin Jubayr, `Verily, people are claiming that it is a river in Paradise.''' Sa`id replied, `The river which is in Paradise is part of the goodness which Allah gave him.'''[7]

Al-Bukhari also recorded from Sa`id bin Jubayr that Ibn `Abbas said, "Al-Kawthar is the abundant goodness.'' This explanation includes the river and other things as well. Because the word Al-Kawthar comes from the word Kathrah (abundance) and it (Al-Kawthar) linguistically means an abundance of goodness. So from this goodness is the river (in Paradise).

Imam Ahmad recorded from Ibn `Umar that the Messenger of Allah said,

«الْكَوْثَرُ نَهْرٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ حَافَتَاهُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَالْمَاءُ يَجْرِي عَلَى اللُّؤْلُؤِ، وَمَاؤُهُ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَل»

(Al-Kawthar is a river in Paradise whose banks are of gold and it runs over pearls. Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey.)[8]

This Hadith was recorded in this manner by At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Ibn Abi Hatim and Ibn Jarir. At-Tirmidhi said, "Hasan Sahih.''[9]

Then Allah says,

[فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ ]

(Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice.)

meaning, `just as We have given you the abundant goodness in this life and the Hereafter -- and from that is the river that has been described previously -- then make your obligatory and optional prayer, and your sacrifice (of animals) solely and sincerely for your Lord. Woship Him alone and do not associate any partner with him. And sacrifice pronouncing His Name alone, without ascribing any partner to Him.' This is as Allah says,

[قُلْ إِنَّ صَلاَتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى للَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَـلَمِينَ - لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَاْ أَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ]

(Say: "Verily, my Salah, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of all that exists. He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.'') (6:162-163)

Ibn `Abbas, `Ata,' Mujahid, `Ikrimah and Al-Hasan all said, "This means with this the Budn should be sacrificed.''[10] Qatadah, Muhammad bin Ka`b Al-Qurazi, Ad-Dahhak, Ar-Rabi`, `Ata' Al-Khurasani, Al-Hakam, Isma`il bin Abi Khalid and others from the Salaf have all said the same. [11]This is the opposite of the way of the idolators, prostrating to other than Allah and sacrificing in other than His Name. Allah says,

[وَلاَ تَأْكُلُواْ مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَفِسْقٌ]

(And do not eat from what Allah's Name has not been pronounced over, indeed that is Fisq.) (6:121)

A Flash From The Past: Nabeel Qureshi Distorts Islamic Teachings

If you guys remembered, earlier this year Yahya Snow came across something peculiar on the net, with the exception of the 'thighing' episode. Who would have known that Nabeel Qureshi, a former member of Acts 17 Apologetics now founder of Creed 2:6, would have the audacity to tell a bold-faced lie to an audience made up entirely of Christians! Astonishing at just what great lengths this man will really go to! Hateful polemics? You guessed right!:

Would Jesus (PBUH) be proud of you for your gratuitous lies against an entire faith?

John 16:7 - Paraclete or Paracleitos?

But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor [Comforter] will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. [John 16:7 NIV, also see John 14:6]

A slight change in the Greek word Paraclete of the original text (“comforter”, or Holy Ghost”) turns the word into Paracleitos (“praised one”) which is the meaning in Arabic of the name Muhammad and its cognate Ahmad, also used of the Prophet. The Gospel would then echo the words of the Koran (61:6) [1]

And (remember) when 'Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allâh unto you confirming the Taurât [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed. But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad SAW) came to them with clear proofs, they said: "This is plain magic." [Dr Mohsin translation of Quran 61:6]

Gospel of John

Christians tacitly admit the author of John was a liar and Bible scholars trust the author of John the least out of the four Gospel writers, thus such an unholy alteration would certainly be considered within the scope of the author of John. However, more worryingly, dishonest and shadowy figures exist in transmitting the Gospel of John (and the other three Gospels) after the demise of the original author as these shadowy figures (the scribes) are responsible for a known New Testament scribal forgery in the form of a huge CHUNK of text which even Christian scholars acknowledge as a forgery – John 7:53-8:11.

As the author of John is tacitly known as a liar within evangelical circles and those who transmitted the Gospel of John are grossly untrustworthy/deceptive we can have no qualms in believing some shadowy figure involved with the Gospels changed/omitted/or missed parts mentioning Prophet Muhammad (p).

Remember all that fuss about Friday Muslim prayer being held at a Toronto public school? This article, answers most, if not all, the queries Canadians have about the prayers being conducted at the school. Let's hope the controversy started by secular and so-called 'humanist' groups, dies down. The article is reproduced below for ease of reading:

There's been a strong reaction to kids praying at the Valley Park Middle School in Toronto. Certain people appear to be horrified that these students have been given the space to pray in a public school. Some imply that Muslims are being given special treatment.

Nonsense. Any faith group would be accommodated if it were important to them and could be scheduled in. If the walls of the school were lined with Islamic religious edicts and paraphernalia, I might see reason to be concerned for the rights of non-Muslim students. Given that isn't the case, it is misleading to say that Muslims kids are being treated differently. If any students wish to have a prayer group, they should and would be allowed to as per the policies of the Toronto District School Board. The community organized and paid for the services, not the school.

I know of a Christian prayer group that met on a weekly basis in a public school. No one batted an eyelid. Demographics have a lot to do with this. Valley Park School is located in Thorncliffe Park, cited as being the neighbourhood in Canada with the highest percentage of Muslim people. That means that community members probably get together regularly for social functions, as well as religious ones, and prayer is normal for many of the children in the neighbourhood.

I've been surprised about many of the things I have heard and seen in the media. For one thing, contrary to some reports, Friday prayer is not mandatory for girls of any age, or pre-puberty boys. Not only do these kids seem to want to pray on a Friday, the girls are showing up even when they have been excused by the vast majority of Muslim scholars (when they are menstruating). Likely they were curious about all the fuss, and about the way their prayer group was being reported in the media.

Regarding menstruation, being "ritually clean" is a part of prayer, but this has little to do with being male or female. It is widely held that a person praying should be clean of blood, fecal matter and urine. If a man cut his finger, he would have to wait until the wound clots before he could pray.

There has been a lot of discussion about the boys and girls being separated. That has irked a lot of people, who assume sitting behind the boys makes the girls second-class citizens.

It depends on where you are to decide whether that is the case or not. From the children's perspective, I don't think the girls would feel discriminated against. Sitting at the back of the bus is deemed cool. So is sitting at the back of the classroom.

For many Muslims, male and female segregation during prayer, and even at social events has become a cultural norm. But I should stress that this is a cultural, not a faith issue. During the Hajj (or pilgrimage) season, men and women pray side by side. You are lucky to find a spot to pray anywhere close to the focal point of prayer, let alone care about who you are next to. It is up to the Muslim community to have a debate about whether they want to have mixed prayer or not.

To date, the social and cultural norm has been for women to pray behind males. I personally have seen many women breastfeeding hungry babies in the mosque, and women help each other out when a child cries. There is a distinct bond created when women sit together, a sisterhood that can provide comfort. Growing up in a Hindu family, men and women always sat separately, even though it wasn't required, it was the cultural norm and seen as respectable. Maybe that has changed now too. For my parents' generation, it was normal.

To be sure, that debate needs to happen, because there wasn't a strict separation of men and women in the times of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It is up to the Muslim community to decide whether menstruating females can pray or not. There is a movement that says it is acceptable. Not everyone agrees.

What should not happen is for the entire world to take this group of kids, and place them under a microscope. That doesn't lend itself to healthy debate. It provokes an insular response.

Smoking is bad for your health. It is a proven fact. And yet, many people continue to smoke. It took us centuries to ban smoking in public places.

]That's why I'm curious as to why certain pressure groups are up in arms about Muslim kids praying on a Friday afternoon in Toronto. Kids could be doing worse things. Smoking would be one of them.

Drink sodden racist chavs including a Hindu got more than they bargained for when after hurling racist abuse outside an Islamic College in Bolton the College's Muslim students beat them up with cricket bats.

The hilarious ironic story gets even better because after receiving a hiding and spending time in hospital it was the racists who were given various court sentences. What almost made me fall of my chair with laughter was the Hindu bloke Bhavesh Patel (who got a fractured skull for his efforts) had his racist abuse towards presumably fellow brown people described by his brief as "out of character given his heritage".

LM should point out I do not condone violence particularly as one bloke previously got seriously attacked outside a Pub and left unconscious.

Islamophobia Backfires in Bolton
AN angry mob shouted racist abuse at the gates of an Islamic college, sparking a confrontation with Muslim students, a court heard.

A bottle and stones were thrown after the group of drunken teenagers goaded residents at the college, in Willows Lane, Deane, in March last year.

Two of the group climbed the gates to confront students but were beaten up and taken to hospital, Bolton Crown Court was told.

Niall Briercliffe, Barry Lomax, Aaron Buckley and Bhavesh Patel all admitted affray.

Patel, aged 19, of Brandon Street, Daubhill, was first to enter the college but after he threw missiles about five students rounded on him, leaving him unconscious with a suspected fractured skull.

Defending Patel, Peter Cunliffe said: “His comments were out of character and given his heritage, it makes it all the more strange and deplorable he said those words.”

Buckley, aged 18, of Canterbury Grove, Daubhill, told a doctor he had been attacked with a cricket bat and hit in the face with a brick.

Defending Buckley Nick Ross said: “His provocative behaviour was absolutely unjustified.”

Police investigated the two defendants’ injuries but no charges were brought.

Briercliffe and Lomax stayed behind the gates of the college with a group of others, who swore, shouted racist abuse and some threw stones.

The late-night standoff followed an earlier, unrelated assault at the Willows pub, involving Briercliffe, Lomax and Patel, who also admitted assault.

The court heard they beat up Lee Chadwick in the car park of the pub following a disagreement.

Mr Chadwick, who was in his early 20s and was known to the group, was left unconscious with cuts above his eye and to his lip.

Sentencing, Recorder Brian Cummings QC said: “You went into the grounds of the college, making confrontation almost inevitable.”

Patel was given a 10- month sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete 100 hours unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation.

Buckley was given a six-month sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete 60 hours unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £100 costs.

Lomax, aged 18, of Horeb Street, Bolton, was given a 10-month sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete 100 hours unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation.

Briercliffe, aged 17, of Church Avenue, Daubhill, was given a 12-month youth rehabilitation order and ordered to complete 200 hours unpaid work.

TORONTO, July 15, 2011 /CNW/ - The Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association (CMLA) applauds the decision of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) to permit private prayer for one half-hour each week in a designated space at Valley Park Middle School.

This sign of tolerance and respect allows students of the Muslim faith to avoid having to leave school premises to attend the once weekly congregational prayer, which is an essential part of the Islamic faith, and ensures that they can return to class safely and in a timely fashion.
Said Ms. Yusra Siddiquee, Chair of the CMLA: "I am proud to live in a country where we accommodate and respect the cultural and religious needs of various diverse communities within a public school system, so that all children can learn together."

The TDSB is not involved in the prayer service, and students participate voluntarily and with parental consent. The accommodation was requested by the local community, and has been ongoing for three years without complaint.
The TDSB's decision is consistent with provincial and federal human rights laws, which oblige service providers, including public schools, to accommodate religious needs. It furthers the aims of the Education Act by maximizing instruction time for its students. The TDSB's decision upholds the Charter of Rights of Freedoms, which guarantees freedom of conscience and religion for all Canadians. We believe that the TDSB has struck a helpful balance that is in line with the legal obligations of the TDSB, but also furthers the values of tolerance, respect and fairness that Canadians proudly uphold.

The TDSB adopted a community-based approach in fulfilling its legal and ethical obligations, and worked with parents and members of the Valley Park neighbourhood to achieve a solution that accommodates the needs of over 300 students. Organizations across faith lines have come forward to support the prayer accommodations at Valley Park Middle School.

The CMLA applauds the TDSB's commitment to ensuring that the religious needs of all faith groups are respected and accommodated, without imposition or detriment to others.

The Truth About Banu Qurayza - Jews Killed by Bible Judgement?

The Banu Qurayza’s demise is one which critics of Islam manipulate to work their Islamophobic agendas (and in many cases Christian evangelical agendas!). This article is for those who actually want to cut through the Islamophobia whilst understanding the main issues relating to Banu Qurayzah (Quraiza). For those who simply follow ill-informed Christian evangelists/bigots without the merest hint of research or credentials then this piece is not for you.

Firstly, the number of Jews killed in the incident is uncertain. The figures generally banded around number 600-900. Karen Armstrong uses the figure of 700 [1].

Who was the Banu Qurayza?

The Banu Qurayza (Arabic: بني قريظة; بنو قريظة‎ alternate spellings include Quraiza, Qurayzah, Quraytha, and the archaic Koreiza) were a Jewish tribe which lived in northern Arabia, at the oasis of Yathrib (presently known as Medina), until the 7th century, when their conflict with Muhammad led to their demise, after the Invasion of Banu Qurayza, took place in the Dhul Qa‘dah, 5 A.H i.e. in February/March, 627 AD [2]

An Encyclopaedic view on Banu Qurayzah

The most concise depiction of the issues relating to the Jews of Banu Qurayzah that I have come across is from the learned Cyril Glasse’s Encyclopaedia of Islam. Points made by Cyril Glasse shall be presented with interjections of an explanatory nature.

Qurayzah. A Jewish tribe of Medina that betrayed the Muslims during the battle of the Trench. When the Quraysh abandoned the siege of the city, Gabriel commanded the Prophet not to lay down arms until the Qurayzah were subdued. Their hands freed by the departure of the Quraysh and their confederates, the Muslims turned upon the Banu Qurayzah and besieged their defensive towers for twenty five days. [3]

[The Quraysh were the pagan tribe from Mecca who attempted to exterminate the nascent Muslim community (and Prophet Muhammad, p) in the battle of the Trench. They marched up to Medina with the sole intent of annihilating the Muslims. The Qurayzah betrayed the Muslims and allied with the Quraish, thus further jeopardising the existence of the Muslim community]

Who decided the men of Banu Qurayza should be killed and why?

When the Banu Qurayzah surrendered they were judged, as a concession, by Sa’d ibn Muadh, a chief of their former allies, the Aws; lying on his deathbed, in pain from a wound inflicted during the fighting with the Quraysh, he passed a rigorous judgement: the adult men should be put to death and the women and children sold into slavery. [3]

[Later on in this segment, Glasse lets us know this ruling is within the BIBLE (Deut 20:12) and most likely Sa’d ibn Muadh was using their law to judge them.

12 If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. 13 When the LORD your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the LORD your God gives you from your enemies. {Deuteronomy 20:12-14New International Version (NIV)}

The Christian bigots and other critics do not relay the information that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had NOTHING to do with the judgement which befell the Banu Qurayzah and moreover, the BIBLE, most likely, had more to do with the punishment of this tribe of Jews (Banu Qurayzah).than any other text or teaching]

Cyril Glasse: criticism concerning the Banu Qurayzah is unfair

In books written in the West, the episode has been the occasion for criticism as an example of extreme cruelty. But it was not as unusual event; similar punishment was meted out elsewhere, as is the destruction of the Albigensians in France, for example and for much the same reason. It is the case of the final judgement overtaking people while still in this world. [3]

The Bible teaches such punishments

The irony is quite immense. Some of the Christian bigots and evangelists using this event to shock folk into leaving Islam wind up with egg on their face as the punishment meted out to the Banu Qurayzah seems very much biblical. The extent of ignorance amongst Christian Islamophobes and evangelists regarding the bible never ceases to amaze us – only the ignorant Christians use the incident of the Banu Qurayzah as criticism and/or evangelical pieces.

In the Bible there are numerous comparable cases. Jewish law itself prescribes such treatment for the conquest of a city as a matter of course, even when betrayal is not in question:

This is perhaps why Sa’d ibn Muadh gave the Qurayzah this sentence; that their own law should be used on them [3]

Exiling Banu Qurayzah Vs. Biblical Judgement (killing) of Banu Qurayzah

Though it may sound quite callous, it must be stated that the wisdom of using the biblical judgement (killing) outweighed the simple exiling of the Banu Qurayzah in the way of the Banu Nadir and Banu Qaynuqa as an exile would have meant a swelling of enemy ranks within Khaybar and advancing a potential threat to the existence of the nascent Muslims society. [3]

Karen Armstrong writes:

The massacre of Qurayzah was a horrible incident, but it would be a mistake to judge it by the standards of our own time. This was a very primitive society: the Muslims themselves had just narrowly escaped extermination, and had Muhammad simply exiled Qurayzah they would have swelled the Jewish opposition in Khaybar and brought another war upon the ummah. In seventh-century Arabia an Arab chief was not expected to show mercy traitors like Qurayzah. The executions sent a grim message to Khaybar and helped to quell the pagan opposition in Medina, since the pagan leaders had been the allies of the rebellious Jews. This was a fight to the death, and everybody had always known the stakes were high. [1]

Hating Jews?

Sadly, critics and some of the unlearned Christian bigots and evangelists use this event to promote the idea of Muslims being inherently anti-Jew. Karen Armstrong corrects such misconstructions:

The struggle did not indicate any hostility towards Jews in general, but only towards the three rebel tribes…

…Smaller Jewish groups continued to live in Medina, and later Jews, like Christians, enjoyed full religious liberty in the Islamic empires. Anti-Semitism is a Christian vice. Hatred of the Jews became marked in the Muslim world only after the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 and the subsequent loss of Arab Palestine. [1]

American Christian Bigots and the Female Afghan Parliament Fight

Why does hatred for Islam and Muslims (Islamophobia) force American Christian bigots to fall off their rockers? The same bigot who believes there are some American Christians within his community who attack other Christians in order to convert Muslims to Trinitarian Christianity (essentially the worship of a man, Prophet Jesus, pbuh)!

So a small fight breaks out within the Afghan parliament between a couple of females MPs and this American Christian bigot starts blaming Islam. I’m not kidding, he really starts to blame Islam for this!

Over last couple of decades American Christians have been dropping bombs on the heads of Muslim men, women and children in a merciless fashion (as well as shooting, raping and torturing) yet I don’t see Muslims blaming Christianity for the American Christian acts of butchery. These are acts of butchery which American Christians are still perpetrating – I guess their thirst for blood, specifically Muslim blood, has not been quenched. Why don’t we not supply these crazed American Christians with violent video games in the stead of real life weaponry – it would be a lot safer for the rest of the world.

Christians fighting each other

Maybe the Christian bigot being addressed believes these Christians (see video below) are fighting each other (Christians vs. Christians) to help their efforts to convert Muslims to Trinitarian Christianity (essentially the worship of a man, Prophet Jesus PBUH), after all, he does espouse some real nutty views.

Our advice to this American Christian bigot is to forget about promoting bigotry by commenting on a small fight in the puppet parliament of Afghanistan (puppetry controlled by none other than American Christians) and concentrate your mind on why ‘holy spirit inspired Christians’ are fighting each other and butchering Muslims. Perhaps you would like to explain why the two World Wars were Christian on Christian battles? In order to do so coherently, you need to get back on your rocker…

Richard Dawkins Irks Feminists and Muslim Women

Who would have ever imagined? Well, I sure did. What do you expect from a self-righteous bigot like Richard Dawkins who thinks he knows the origin of the universe? The article is reproduced below for your reading pleasure:

Players: Famed evolutionary biologist, Richard Dawkins; Rebecca Watson, female activist.

Opening Serve: Richard Dawkins made an unexpected appearance in the comments section of biologist PZ Myers' post at Scienceblogs.com last week. Myers was commenting on Rebecca Watson's recent experience being propositioned in a hotel elevator by a male attendee of a conference at which Watson had just spoken in Dublin. Dawkins got himself into hot water by commenting in the form of a sarcastic letter to a Muslim woman, pointing out how trivial Watson's experience in the elevator was compared to the abuses Muslim women deal with on a daily basis. "Stop whining will you. Yes, yes, I know you had your genitals mutilated with a razor blade, and...yawn...don't tell me again, I know you aren't allowed to drive a car, and can't leave the house without a male relative, and your husband is allowed to beat you, and you'll be stoned to death if you commit adultery," he wrote. "But stop whining, will you. Think of the suffering your poor American sisters have to put up with."

Return Volley: Several Science Blogs readers reacted negatively to Dawkins' comment. "Did you just make the argument that, since worse things are happening somewhere else, we have no right to try to fix things closer to home? By that argument, I shouldn't complain when our local high school biology teacher tosses around idiot arguments because there are children elsewhere who can't even go to school? Or I shouldn't complain that my sister was raped by three men because far worse things are happening now in the Congo?" wrote commenter Brother Ogvorbis. Another commenter by the name of Forbidden Snowflake asked, "What right have you to bemoan the teaching of creationism in your country while people are dying of malaria in West Africa?"

Dawkins returned to the comment section to clarify, in response to Brother Orgvorbis's question, "No I wasn't making that argument." His argument, he explains, is this:

The man in the elevator didn't physically touch her, didn't attempt to bar her way out of the elevator, didn't even use foul language at her. He spoke some words to her. Just words. She no doubt replied with words. That was that. Words. Only words, and apparently quite polite words at that....Rebecca's feeling that the man's proposition was 'creepy' was her own interpretation of his behavior, presumably not his. She was probably offended to about the same extent as I am offended if a man gets into an elevator with me chewing gum. But he does me no physical damage and I simply grin and bear it until either I or he gets out of the elevator. It would be different if he physically attacked me.

As for his comment on Muslim women, Dawkins writes: "Muslim women suffer physically from misogyny, their lives are substantially damaged by religiously inspired misogyny. Not just words, real deeds, painful, physical deeds, physical provisions, legally sanctioned demeanings."

This comment elicited several more responses, including a post by Jen McCreight at her own blog, BlagHag, arguing that "words matter." She writes:

You don't get that because you've never been called a cunt, a faggot, a nigger, a kike. You don't have people constantly explaining that you're subhuman, or have the intellect of an animal. You don't have people saying you shouldn't have rights. You don't have people constantly sexually harassing you. You don't live in fear of rape, knowing that one wrong misinterpretation of a couple words could lead down that road.

Myers documented Dawkins's comments and McCreight's response in another post which received yetanother comment from Dawkins, this time countering that the argument made by Watson supporters contending that being propositioned in an elevator is particularly scary because "there is no escape." Dawkins responds, "Here's how you escape from an elevator. You press any one of the buttons conveniently provided. The elevator will obligingly stop at a floor, the door will open and you will no longer be in a confined space but in a well-lit corridor in a crowded hotel in the center of Dublin."

This last comment finally pulled Watson in. "This weekend when I read Dawkins' comments, I was, briefly, without hope. I had already seen the future of this movement dismissing these concerns, and now I was seeing the present do the same." She urges readers to protest Dawkins's work, declaring that "this person who I always admired for his intelligence and compassion does not care about my experience as an atheist woman and therefore will no longer be rewarded with my money, my praise, or my attention. I will no longer recommend his books to others, buy them as presents, or buy them for my own library," she writes. "I will not attend his lectures or recommend that others do the same. There are so many great scientists and thinkers out there that I don't think my reading list will suffer."

What They Say the Fight's About: Dawkins insists that Watson's story is trivial. She was not physically harmed or even touched by the man in the elevator and therefore should not tell the story as if she was in danger. Watson and her supporters argue that, whatever the man's intentions, it is natural for a woman, alone, in a confined space, in a foreign country, late at night, to feel uncomfortable when invited back to a strange man's hotel room. Especially, Watson points out, when the man in question had just attended her lecture on feminism not appreciating being hit on in such a way.

What the Fight's Really About: Several comments, including Watson's own, hit on exactly what the fight's about. Dawkins has every right to dismiss Watson's story and to argue that she was not in a high risk situation. But his attempt to prove how insignificant Watson's story was by comparing it with the much worse scenario of a Muslim woman's daily life hurts his argument. The fact that something worse is going on somewhere else does not diminish whatever may be happening here. Also, as Watson points out, Dawkins is admired widely for work criticizing creationism and denouncing the use of religion as an excuse for repressing women in particular. To defend only some women from misogyny and not all, she and others argue, is hypocrtical.

Who's Winning Now: Dawkins seems to be losing, based on the many who've disagreed with him in the Science Blogs comments section and their own blogs. Watson, though having become disillusioned by someone she once admired, should feel vindicated by the amount of support she's received.

A deceptive and peculiar Christian evangelist, named David Wood, is infamous for his gems of absurdity. Here's another one of his nutty episodes:

First, Roger isn't going after Terry Jones or Ruben Israel's group. He harasses quiet, peaceful Christians who attempt to discuss the Gospel with Muslims. The shocking thing is that Roger actually considers himself to be a Christian. He's from strange group that believes they can impress Muslims by attacking other Christians. Supposedly, after years of seeing people like Roger harass Christians (so the theory goes), Muslims will be attracted to Roger's unspoken Gospel message and will embrace Christianity. This absurd mentality is becoming increasingly popular in Dearborn, where the only Christians who are truly welcome are the ones willing to throw other Christians under the bus

He thinks Christians are harassing other Christians to get Muslims to convert ot Christianity. What a nutty idea!

My message to this 'evangelist' is; stop, please just stop showing yourself up. That's to say, stop spouting the garbage that passes for plausible ideas in your wacky anti-muslim evangelical circles.

According to Toronto District School Board Muslims are Within The Law to Pray

The Toronto District School Board says it is meeting its obligation to accommodate students’ religious beliefs by allowing an imam to lead students in prayer on school property.
The board came under fire this week when a Hindu group that regularly criticizes Islam raised objections to Friday Muslim prayer sessions, which have been held inside a cafeteria at Valley

Jim Spyropoulos, superintendent of inclusive schools for the board, said that parents and teachers at the school came up with an arrangement that would enable the more than 300 observant students at the school to attend prayer without leaving school property and missing class time.
The prayers are entirely run and paid for by the Valley Park community.

“I think it’s important to note the prayer isn’t conducted under the auspices of the board,” he said. “The principal was creative enough to sit down with parents and come up with a solution that worked for everyone and there has not been a single complaint from within the community.”
Similar arrangements have been made for Muslim students at other schools throughout the board, he said.

But Ron Banerjee, director of Canadian Hindu Advocacy, said his group has received support both from Hindus and non-Hindus who say the TDSB is going too far.
Islamic groups are “imposing their view and trying to change the rules, regulations, norms and values to accommodate themselves, and in the long-term, to spread their ideology,” he said.
“….Pretty soon we’re going to have 50 different ethnicities and religions asking for different accommodations.”
The TDSB introduced a religious accommodation policy in 2000 in order to ensure it was in compliance with human rights legislation. It outlines ways to accommodate modesty requirements in gym class, and fasting and dietary requirements, among other things. It also includes limitations that state the board won’t compromise on certain issues, such as public safety or health, in making these accommodations, and that parents must make the request.
Prayer has a long history inside Canadian schools.

Since before Canada became a country, it was a common requirement for students to begin their day with a recitation of the Lord’s Prayer.

In 1982, when the Charter of Rights and Freedoms came into play, obligatory school prayers became a violation of students’ rights to freedom of conscience and religion.

Prayer in schools has remained controversial in the United States where some jurisdictions have attempted to reinstate religious observances in state-sponsored classrooms.

The accommodations for students at Valley Park Middle School are very different.
They amount to allowing prayer inside a school, but don’t go so far as the school-directed form of prayer that was outlawed in Canada nearly 30 years ago.

“In a school where there is such a high concentration of Muslim students, this was the best solution that avoided compromising instructional time,” said Mr. Spyropoulos.

Toronto, July 5 (IANS) Friday namaz at a school in the Toronto suburb of North York has angered Hindu advocacy groups here, who want it stopped.

The noon-time prayers for 400 Muslim students of the Valley Park Middle School were introduced three years ago.

Angry Hindu advocacy groups want the 40-minute prayers, which are conducted by an imam specially brought from a mosque, to be stopped immediately.

The local Canadian Hindu Advocacy, led by Ron Banerjee, is roping in various Hindu organisations to hold protests outside the school to pressure management to stop the Friday prayers.

'This is alarming and unacceptable. We respect the separation of church and state,' Banerjee has said in interviews to the media.

'There's not supposed to be any religious classes taking place in public schools,' according to Banerjee.

He says his group is writing letters to the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) to intervene to stop the practice being allowed by the school management.

The school has the responsibility for ensuring secular education for students, the Hindu advocacy leader adds.

Banerjee says upset parents of Hindu students at the Valley Park Middle School have brought this practice to their notice.

He said Hindu groups will also raise objections to 'the serving of halal meat within TDSB schools. Our organisation is determined to ensure all Hindu students are provided non-halal meat alternatives'.

Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus are the biggest non-white communities of the Toronto area.

Christian Wives Cannot Refuse Sexual Relations with their Husbands – Bible

Christian Hypocrisy: Muslim Marital Ways

Sadly, some myopic and Islamophobic Christians have been missing the point concerning Islam’s encouragement of both husband and wife to fulfil each other’s rights sexually. Christian Islamophobes who lack understanding often cite the following Hadith in their attempts to point score against Muslims:

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘If a woman spends the night having forsaken her husband’s bed, the angels will curse her until she goes back.’”(narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Nikaah, 4795)

These Christians often disregard the following points:

1. The Bible teaches the SAME thing; Christian women are not allowed to refuse their husands sexually (and vice versa) plus must obey their husbands with regards to what they wear etc..

2. Sexual relations are the natural rights of the husband and wife, thus the spouse denying their partner (husband/wife) increases the risk that the husband/wife will seek to satisfy their desires outside of marriage which is a huge sin within Islam and Christianity.

3. Sexual union is part of husband-wife relations and builds intimacy and love between the spouses.

The Bible teaches Christian women cannot refuse sex with their Christian husbands?

Now, those familiar with the Bible may cite the most obvious Bible verse, which instructs the wife to obey the husband in every command:

Ephesians 5:24-33

New Living Translation (NLT)
As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.

However, this is not the verse I had in mind, though the verse could be deemed more than sufficient to illustrate the point but the following passage in Corinthians teaches us that Christian women (and men) should not refuse their spouses sexual intimacy – very much in the same way as the Islamic teachings above:

1 Corinthians 7:2-5
New Living Translation (NLT)
2 But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.
3 The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. 4 The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.
5 Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

*Note, the NIV uses the word ‘marital’ instead of ‘sexual’ in verse three. The two words amount to the same meaning. However, the CEB agrees with the word ‘sexual’.

Learned Christians teach Christian women cannot say no to their husbands’ sexual advances (and vice versa):

"Sex when desired" by either partner: 1 Cor 7:3-4.
If your husband wants sex, it is a sin to refuse him. If your wife wants sex, it is a sin to refuse her. Bible sex is always consensual... your spouse asks, and you always say yes. Many a marriage can be saved by implementing this one rule alone. When you get married, you lose control of your body to your spouse. Studies have shown that about an equal amount of married women want more sex than their husbands, as married men who want more sex than their wives desire. It would be nice to match men and women up as marriage partners based upon their sex drive it would be great. But unfortunately this is often not the case. One partner wants sex more often than the other. In these situations, the partner that doesn’t desire sex must immediately consent to their spouse. The Christians understand this passage to even mean if the husband (or wife) wants sex more often than their respective spouse then the spouse MUST IMMEDIATELY CONSENT.

Inconsistent and ignorant Christians

May I ask, why is it that so many Christians are criticisng Islam for something that is totally BIBLICAL and supported by the author of Corinthians (largely agreed to be St Paul)? The answer my friends, is that of ignorance of the Bible and inconsistency.

Paul's advice ignored

Dress code?

A bonus nugget – no more short skirts, shorts, tight jeans, tight tops, transparent clothing, low cut tops etc – if the Christian husband puts his foot down!

Bible.ca write:
1 Cor 7:3-4 also means that your spouse has control over you the way you dress, your hair cut and the way you physically look.

Christian men, speak up!

Oh Christian wives, could you speak up against those, I believe they call them ‘suspenders’ or 'braces', two straps some American Christian men wear to hold their trousers up. Get them to wear belts. Belts look smarter. :)

And PLEASE start wearing the Hijab, we have clearly shown it to be biblical. If your husbands complain, tell them its your right to wear the clothing of Mary (p).

Christians ignore Paul AGAIN

This Bible teaching of not refusing sex with your spouse unless mutually agreed seems to be disliked by some Christians. I’m not sure why. Paul is presenting a perfectly reasonable teaching as it helps keep Christian men and women away from temptations of adultery, pornography and other sexual deviances. Muslims have a similar teaching, looks like Paul is agreeing with Islam again as we previously taught Paul supported the hijab to the extent that he thought hijab-less Christian women were temptations for angels (and most likely other men too)!

Why are so many modern day Christians ignoring Paul’s conservative teachings which are precautions against adultery and fornication. Surely if America followed these two practical and basic teachings of Paul we would have less adultery and fornication in Western societies (as well as Eastern societies as so many within the East imitate and adopt American culture).

The question still stands, why?

It sounds like possible Muslims DO try to kill the Jews in Israel at Armageddon if you read Jeremiah and Revelation, and, it sounds like Jesus melts them by the brightness of his coming, turning Muslims into Jewish foot-stools [Christian comment directed to a Muslim on YT]

The Truth about Jesus (p) and the End Times

Perhaps the Christian is confusing Muslims for the Dajjal (Antichrist) as a Hadith does mention Jesus is to 'melt' the Antichrist as Jesus is quoted in this Hadith:

Ibn Masud reported that the Prophet (S) said, "On the night of the Isra (night journey), I met my father Abraham, Moses and Jesus, and they discussed the Hour. The matter was referred first to Abraham, then to Moses and both said, 'I have no knowledge of it'.
Then it was referred to Jesus, who said, 'No one knows about its timing except Allah; what my Lord told me was that the Dajjal [antichrist] will appear and when he sees me he will begin to melt like lead. Allah will destroy him when he sees me. the Muslims will fight against the Kafirs, and even the tress and rocks will say "O Muslim, there is a kafir hiding beneath me - some and kill him!". Allah will destroy the kafirs, and people will return to their own lands. Then Gog and Magog will appear from all directions, eating and drinking everything they find. The people will complain to me [Jesus,p], so I will pray to Allah and He will destroy them, so send rain which will was their bodies into the sea. My Lord has told me that when that happens, the hour will be very close, like a pregnant woman whose time is due, but her family do not know exactly when she will deliver'" [Ahmad, Musnad 1/375. Bible supportss the saying of Jesus in the Hadith

Actually, a portion of the Bible is confirmed to be true by the saying of Jesus in the above tradition as Jesus acknowledges that he does not know the Hour and ONLY God knows the time of the Hour:

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. [NIV - Matthew 24:36]

Note: The word 'Father' was adopted by the Jews to denote God.

Obviously, for the thinking man, Jesus is not God as he does not know the time of the hour. God is All-knowing. Jesus is not All-Knowing, thus Jesus is obviously not God.

In the above Hadith, containing the saying of Jesus, we also note Jesus has a Lord (God) and is to pray to God. This is nothing new to Christians as a saying within the Gospels confirms Jesus does have a Lord and does pray to his Lord (Allah):

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed... [NIV Matthew 26:39]

Another problem our Christian friends face is that of the New Testament. They have very little alleged content from Jesus. Sadly, they have favoured passion narrative stories (four of them!) and letters from a man named Paul of Tarsus as well as some forged letters which are termed 'pseudopigrapha' amongst other things. Why did they not strive to preserve the sayings of Jesus?

For many, the insufficient and unreliable nature of the New Testament ends Christianity on a personal level however, the end of Christianity per se only comes about when Jesus returns. The irony!

The End of Christianity by the Arrival of a Muslim named Jesus

The irony here is that Jesus' second coming will see the end of Christianity and all other religions apart from Islam. Jesus will follow Islam as a Muslim and he will invite people to Islam:

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (S) said, "The Prophets are like brothers; they have different mothers but their religion is one. I am the closest of all the people to Jesus son of Mary, because there is no other Prophet between him and myself. He will come again, and when you see him, you will recognize him. He is of medium height and his colouring is reddish white. He will be wearing two garments, and his hair will look wet. He will break the cross, kill the pigs, abolish the Jizyah and call the people to Islam....[Ahamd Musnad2/406. Jesus calling people to become Muslims is nothing new to people who are familiar with the Gospel of Mark as Jesus in Mark 3:35 is encouraging folk to become his brothers/sisters and mothers by submitting to the will of God - Islam is submission to the Will of God.

Why wait for Jesus to call you to Islam?

We all know Paul was an advocate of the Hijab (head covering) to the extent of essentially forcing Christian women to wear the Hijab by offering the ultimatum of chopping off their locks (hair) or wearing the Hijab, but we are not sure why Paul was so in favour of the Hijab.

The Jesus scholar,Geza Vermes, offers some insight concerning our difficulty and his theorizing is interesting to say the least:

The idea of potential sexual rapport between angels and women continued to float in the air even as late as in the New Testament times. Indeed, when St Paul forbade the female members of the church of Corinth to attend Christian assemblies with the head uncovered, he justified this prohibition by his belief that the sight of their hair might lead astray some passing-by sons of heaven: 'That is why a woman ought to have a veil on her head, because of the angels', Paul insisted (1 Cor 11:10). [1]

Christian men tempted by Christian women without hijab?

If Vermes' view concerning Pauls' reasoning is correct one wonders as to the extent early Christians thought hijab-less women as a temptation to sin. After all, if the angels could not resist unveiled Christian women then what about the lay Christians? Surely they are in real danger of falling into sin? So why in the world are they freely mixing with uncovered Christian women at churches every Sunday? Not only that, what about day to day activities. I cannot ever recall seeing a lay Christian woman in hijab yet I have lived in the Christian West all my life!

Christians need to stop presenting Christianity as secualrism with a belief in a trinity and blood sacrifice. It's not.

Paul ignored by Christian women...

I must say Paul had a point with his staunch support of the hijab. Paul's precautions against sexual sin (the hijab) have largely been ignored by most Christian women.

We would very much encourage Christian women to ignore Paul on his mistakes but act upon the teachings which have a ring of truth and sense to them. The hijab is something Mary wore and something which all women should strive for.

Christian men...

Why are Christian men so lax in encouraging the Hijab? For some reason, Christians follow Paul theologically to the letter yet ignore him practically in the case with the concern. I'd like to see Christians ignore Paul theologically and adopt Paul's teaching of hijab...

You don't have to believe Paul's alleged reasoning for the hijab, just start handing out hijabs to women who claim to love Jesus (p).

Vile Deception

Sadly there are some Christians who stain Christians on the whole with products of their kinky and beguiling minds. Somehow a small number of debauched Christian missionaries have deceptively taken a Hadith (narration) to form a ridiculous allegation of cross-dressing against the Prophet Muhammad.

The Hadith has NOTHING to do with wearing female clothes! See for yourselves, here is the relevant portion of the Hadith from the scholar Cyril Glasse’s encyclopaedia of Islam:

The Prophet said to Umm Salamah: ‘Trouble me not concerning ‘Aishah for verily inspiration does not come to me when I am beneath the coverlet of a wife, except that wife be ‘Aishah’ [The Concise Encyclopaedia of Islam, Revised Edition, Cyril Glasse, Stacey International, 2001, p34]

No scholar or student of knowledge would ever take this hadith (or the other one they use) to imply cross-dressing, nobody with an ounce of knowledge and desire for accuracy would either.

Unsurprising, these fabrications were (and still are) being propagated by sad little ‘Christian evangelists’ who have no regard for the truth.

Waqar Akbar Cheema from ‘Let Me Turn The Tables’ seems to have found the bizarre little man (Sam Shamoun) who initiated these lies and has produced an in depth article rebuking him for his desperately made-up translations, ignorance and other deceptions concerning this issue. Here are a couple of tasters:

Sam Shamoun, first inserted the words ‘wearing’ in brackets for no reason. Perhaps he thought that Muslims will also swallow this word in brackets as easily as Christians have been adopting interpolations into the Bible.

He translated the word ‘thowb’ as “woman’s clothing” and related it to wearing. You will hardly ever find a liar of this caliber!

PESHAWAR: Asghar Maseeh Bhatti, who along with his wife and three children embraced Islam recently, has appealed to the authorities to protect him from the injustices of his elders and rivals.

Talking to reporters outside the Peshawar Press Club on Friday, Asghar Maseeh, now Sheikh Abdur Rehman, showed signs of torture on his body, saying that his elders had not only expelled him from service but also tortured him for embracing Islam.

Sheikh Abdur Rehman, who has done his FSc, said he decided to embrace Islam after listening to speeches of Maulana Tariq Jamil and Dr Zakir Naik. “Bibi Zainab also recorded her statement in the court that she was willing to live with me,” he said, adding that their elder daughter Amisha Asghar Bhatti had been named as Bibi Fatima and younger Adisha Bhatti as Bibi Ayesha, while his son Aashar Maseeh was now Abdullah.

He appealed to the chief justice to protect him from the injustices of his elders, including Robert Aiqeul and Robert Paul, who, he alleged, had taken him into their headquarters in Islamabad and tortured him. He said the minorities enjoyed equal rights in the country but they were not ready to accept his decision of embracing Islam.

Answering Islam: Persisting with Wicked Fabrications + Another ABN Scandal

Dishonesty and malice does not get much worse than this latest episode as Answering Islam offers lunacy to prop up its past blunders.

You may recall, we rebuked two Answering Islam authors (David Wood and Sam Shamoun) for propagating the thighing hoax on separate occasions – Mr. Shamoun was peddling these lies 2-3 years ago whilst Mr. Wood relatively recently reinvented ‘dumb and dumber’ by picking up on the SAME hoax despite his colleague being rebuked into silence years prior. The truth and accuracy are no obstacles for folk from Answering Islam.

Lunacy, desperate lunacy…

A couple of months ago one of their financial backers (Radical Moderate) called in to the ‘Jesus or Muhammad’ (ABN) show and quizzed them on our rebuke at the behest of a commenter on this blog (Abdul).

Sam Shamoun and David Wood were clearly under pressure in a live situation under the careful watch of a generally Islamophobic Christian audience. This pressure was too much to bear for SamShamoun as he circumnavigated the obvious and rightful action (apologizing for his past promotion of lies) in favour of a full frontal attack which amounted to little other than hot air – hot air with the whiff of dishonesty.

In short he persisted with his proven lie by insisting he was right and (wrongly) repeated ‘Muhammad did thigh Aisha’. To prop up his bout of desperate lunacy he claimed to have a ‘massive Arabic file’ saved on his computer. Huh?

Thighing Hoax

For those who are still unaware, the claim that Prophet Muhammad ‘thighed’ Aisha (Aishah) is a hoax (lie).

This malicious claim arose from a Christian website in the form of a ‘fatwa’. As previously noted Saudi scholars have denounced this ‘fatwa’ as a lie and rejected the claim that Muhammad performed this act.

Muhaddith.org offered a fine synopsis of this internet hoax:

The lie does not cite any hadith, but merely repeats a falsified fatwa against Saudi scholars who denied ever having made it, as declared on their website, and they added "Our Prophet prohibits even seclusion with a fiancée."

Therefore, the only sexual acts with prepubescent girls were actually just fantasized in the perverted imagination of the person fabricating the lie in his sick mind about “thighing” and “rubbing” repeatedly a 6 year old girl.

Evidence, what is evidence?

Answering Islam have had years to study and realize that a claim of Prophet Muhammad performing any action can only be backed up by a narration or a Quranic Verse. Neither narration nor a Quranic Verse supports their fabrications. Why do they still persist with such lies then?

Why Answering Islam is not coming clean…

Perhaps Mr. Shamoun’s (and Mr. Wood’s?) donations and pride keep him from admitting he presented lies and has nothing evidential. He has had 2-3 years to present his material, yet he has not presented anything. That’s to say, he knows he has nothing. He knows this but dupes the Christian caller (and audience) into thinking he has something to support his falsifications.

Secret files? Answering Islam have been watching too many episodes of X Files

Answering Islam’s Sam Shamoun (their unappealing version of Fox Mulder) claims he has a ‘massive Arabic file’ and needs to get it ‘translated’. As astutely mentioned in the video, if he is yet to have it translated then he is appealing to something which he has not even digested nor even read. Shear and unadulterated lunacy!

Moreover and more importantly, Mr. Shamoun messaged me in December of 2010 concerning this file. He has had months/years to produce it yet to this day has not presented ANY of this secret ‘file’. I’m beginning to suspect he either has no secret file and is simply lying or knows the secret file is insubstantial and nonsensical to the extent that his charlatanry will be laughably exposed if he did unleash this secret ‘file’?

The truth is, he has nothing and the months/years of waiting proves it.

David Wood desperate + fobbing off a loyal financial donor

In the clip, Mr. Shamoun is put on the spot by his eager colleague Mr. Wood as he suggests the mysterious secret files should be presented on next month’s ABN ‘Jesus or Muhammad’ show but Mr. Shamoun dismisses this suggestion. Why? It’s obvious why; he has nothing and was simply fobbing the audience off in an effort to avoid apologizing for his past indiscretions (i.e. gullibly peddling lies).

Why was Mr. Wood so desperate to have the secret files put on show? Well, this man went onto the Google machine and found the SAME lies and ran with them as the charlatan he is. We rebuked him spectacularly and I guess his audience realized he is not the self-styled expert on Islam as he would want folk to believe – not exactly the ideal ingredient when you want folk to offer financial support to fund your lifestyle and activities, is it?

Finally, spare a thought for the betrayed and used Christians. The chap phoning into the show is a man whom I am familiar with, he has spent a number of dollars in funding Mr. Shamoun and Mr. Wood as well as offering time and other forms of support, yet he was simply fobbed off by Answering Islam’s Sam Shamoun via his ‘call my bluff’ style charade. A dishonest charade by anybody’s standard. I truly hope he asks for his cash back and resists their Wood’s/Shamoun’s future pleas for support; financial or otherwise. Talk about betraying and deceiving one of your own!

To this man, I invite you (as well as all concerned) to a relationship with the God whom Jesus worshipped (Allah). Would you like that? If yes, come to Islam and strive to become a brother of Jesus (Mark 3:35)

Thursday Night: Two American-born Muslims harassed outside of Minneapolis Jazz Club

Yes, that’s right. I believe this is the most excitement the sidewalk outside of the jazz club has experienced in a long time… though I wouldn’t know as it is not often that I am in downtown at 10pm on a Thursday night which is apparently when the crazies come out!

I’ve been wearing hijab for over a year now and I’ve never gotten any reactions more than a pseudo-ignorant comment or two and most of those have been well-intended.

It was the first night of the Netroots Nation conference a yearly “progressive geek fest” which has inspired theRight Online conference to follow it to every city it goes. Right Online creatively labels itself as the Republican equivalent of Netroots.

Anwar, a fellow Netroots attendee visiting from California and I were on the sidewalk around 10pm Thursday looking for a place to eat when we ran into an acquaintance of mine – Elisabeth – who has given talks for our local Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at the University of Minnesota. Elisabeth was helping us find a place to eat when out of nowhere a man, confirmed by the Minneapolis Police Department to be John Hugh Gilmore, walked by and said, “Ayan Hersi Ali.” For those of you who haven’t heard of Ayan, she is a former Muslim who earned millions off of the several books she has published completely trashing Islam. Gilmore continued to walk past us and then turned around and gave us a “thumbs up.” We were a bit confused and we told him that we actually didn’t agree with her ideas. He asked us why we didn’t. Anwar responded telling him that it was okay, and we could agree to disagree. We wanted to move on with our night. But the man continued, What’s the problem? Why don’t you like her? He was so persistent and obnoxious. Anwar finally ended the convo “I have a right to not tell you why I disagree, God bless and goodnight.” (Yes, Muslims do indeed believe in God, and Jesus as well for that matter).

We returned to talking with Elisabeth and one minute later we looked over and he was taking pictures of us from about 10 feet away. Elisabeth called him out by saying excuse me and asking him not to take her picture. He responded, what’s wrong, we’re in a public place, this is a public sidewalk I can take your pictures. AND THEN he decides to go there, oh yea, full blown Islamo-hating rhetoric. He gave the whole spiel, you people can’t come to our country and try to change things, this is the West, go back to where you came from etc… I appreciated how WE (Anwar and I, the two hijabis) were not even the ones who asked him to stop taking our pictures. The original request was from Elisabeth and he decided to address us instead and turn it into something about Muslims. Elisabeth and Anwar continued to stand up for us and told him, “You can take your racism that way!”

In the mean time, there had been a crowd of fellow Netroots activists and bloggers forming around us. Gilmore would not retreat and he continued on his Islamophobic rant telling us that we couldn’t, “come here and change things.” Anwar responded and told him, “This is the REAL democracy. We love our country. Look at all these people, every shape and color gathered around us.” When he still would not retreat, Anwar and I decided to let some of the Netroots people step in. Gilmore actually threatened a Jewish-American man, who then proceeded to call the cops.

The MPD arrived shortly after and asked us some questions. The officer went inside the restaurant Gilmore had finally escaped to and brought him out in handcuffs. The officer came back out and continued to question us and then helped the Jewish-American man file a citizens arrest.

All the support we were getting from the people around us, and from the extraordinarily compassionate MPD officer was truly amazing. It has honestly changed many of my former perceptions of police officers and the city of Minneapolis in general.

NOTE: I would like to add in that we have no knowledge that Andrew Breitbart was at all involved in what happened as he has been accused of being involved in this video. Also, there has been a rumor circulating that Pakistani blogger Sana Saleem was the victim in this case, but that is also not true.

Friday: Andrew Breitbart Crashes Netroots

In light of Thursday night’s incident and the emerging rumors that he was alleged to be the harasser from the night before, conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart briefly attended the Netroots conference without paying. It is not confirmed that his intentions were solely to address the rumors. You can watch this video to see what happened.

Saturday: Hijabi Flash Mob Crashes RightOnline

As a response to the incident of Islamophobia on Thursday, some of us Muslims and other supporters who were attending Netroots Nationdecided to make an appearance at the RightOnline conference. Our intentions were to simply stand outside the event and stand up for the human rights that we Muslims deserve just as much as any other human being. Several women attending the Netroots conference came to support us as well. We arrived on the floor where the event was occurring and were asked to leave by security. However, when we tried to go back, we were surrounded by media from both conferences and could not leave the premises. Media from the RightOnline conference was very agitated when we told him to contact the MPD because could not tell him the name of Thursday night’s harasser. The reporter didn’t seem to understand that our attendance at the conference was organized by a group of women who just happened to attend the Netroots conference and believed strongly in human rights and not a media attack from the left.

Andrew Breitbart's Minion Harasses Women in Hijab At NetRoots Nation Convention

Would be journalist and provocateur Andrew Breitbart met his match today when he tried to crash the liberal NetRoots Nation convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  100 Proof Politics editor Ryan Clayton was ready - and his camera and hard questions forced right wing Breitbart into a hasty retreat.

The story started the night before when two women ventured into the streets of Minneapolis wearing the traditional Hijab (headscarf.) They were approached by John Hugh Gilmore, a 52 year attorney and self described Conservative who blogs for "Minnesota Conservatives."   According to police, he asked the women what they thought of Ayaan Hersi Ali, a Somali who is a fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute who decries Muslims. The women told him they weren't exactly fans.   The inebriated Gilmore then became upset and started harassing the pair, asking what right they had to be in this country, until 60 onlookers intervened. Police were called and arrested Gilmore, but not until Gilmore tried to reach Andrew Breitbart on his phone.

Fast forward to today. Breitbart entered the Minneapolis Convention Center just minutes after Clayton had interviewed Sana Saleem, a blogger of Pakistani heritage and co-founder of Gawaahi.com, who had witnessed the confrontation. Breitbart claimed he knew nothing about the event, and a Breitbart colleague accused Clayton of lying about the whole affair, (but Minneapolis Police Department has confirmed Gilmore's arrest.)

Clayton moved beyond the Minneapolis incident into questions to confirm or deny rumors of Breitbart's alleged drug use and sexual habits.   While Breitbart denied having a cocaine habit, he would not answer whether he had personally ever used cocaine.   Given Hugh Hewitt's recent interview with Breitbart  where Breitbart references the gay magazine "Blue Boy," Clayton also asked about Breitbart's penchant for gay magazines. At that point, without answering directly, the flustered Breitbart left the Netroots Nation convention, hounded by dozens of attendees shouting, "Coward! Coward!"

Problem with Christianity: Jesus Went to Hell for Three Days?

I know some lay Christians will be baulking at the title but they should rest assured that orthodox Christians do believe Jesus went to Hell (for ‘proclamation’ purposes), just consult their creeds:

The Apostles’ Creed reads: ‘He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried, descended to hell, rose from the dead on the third day’

The Athanasian Creed, in turn, declares: ‘Who suffered for our salvation, descended to hell, rose from the dead on the third day’

Of course, these creeds do not specifically state the length of time Jesus spent in hell though the period of three days has been banded about.

Does Luke contradict the Christian Creed?

The Gospels have nothing about Jesus descending to hell. Luke has Jesus stating he will be in paradise on the SAME day of his alleged death along with the ‘criminal’ whom Jesus addresses immediately prior to his alleged death:

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” [Luke 23:43 – NIV]

How do serious Trinitarian Christians reconcile this? It’s a serious question.

Reasoning behind the ‘Jesus going to Hell’ story…

Now, if I recall correctly, Geza Vermes (The Resurrection) touches on this issue and intimates the idea of Jesus going into Sheol (the underworld) was designed to appease Pauline Christianity’s target audience, the Graeco-Roman pagans, who would have been concerned about their forefathers and past greats who never knew of Christ. Hence the introduction of the belief in their man god (Christians like to use a subtle variation, ‘god man’) going down to ‘the depths of the earth’ and proclaiming to those ‘imprisoned spirits’ [Ref 1 Peter 3:19 and Ephesians 4:9]

A Faith Questioning Synopsis?

Christian creeds advance the belief in Jesus descending to Hell. Yet, the more discerning will notice in the entire New Testament, Jesus makes no mention of this mission to Hell, nor do any of the Gospel writers. In fact, Luke, in his version of the story, seemingly contradicts the idea of Jesus going to hell as he depicts Jesus as ascending to paradise!

Our Christian friends may offer some form of reconciliation but the real test is to check whether their reconciliation is Biblically and logically sound or simply foreign philosophy interjected into obscure texts to strengthen the already convicted…

Creed 2:6 Ministries + Nabeel Qureshi Leaving Hatred?

Islamophobia is a sinking ship

Well Dr Nabeel Qureshi has just set up a ministry of his own, named Creed 2:6. It does appear Dr Nabeel Qureshi is genuinely interested in preaching and regular Christian ministry work. He has distanced himself from the bigotry of Acts 17, though it must be stated, Qureshi is still associated with Acts 17. Time will tell as to the evolution of Nabeel Qureshi.

IF Nabeel has actually turned a new leaf and is interested in love and truth then it is a positive sign. Perhaps, the Muslims who have prayed for him are seeing their prayers being answered somewhat in that Nabeel is moving away from the nefarious.

Michelle Qureshi is currently serving in the Coast Guard Honor Guard in Northern Virginia. She greatly desires to serve through ministry and missions work. She has travelled to South Africa to serve those debilitated by the Aids epidemic, as well as to Peru to help orphans. Currently she is training to drill wells so that she can help people without clean water in Nicaragua.

Michelle's pivotal role at Creed 2:6 is the position of executive secretary. She will be handling requests and inquiries as well as finances and scheduling. She has been assisting Dr. Qureshi in ministry since 2008.

Advice for Nabeel Qureshi

I must say, it does appear you are serious about Christianity and evangelizing folk. I hope your ministry can help build social cohesion between Christians and Muslims – this can only be achieved if you genuinely drop bigotry and distance yourself totally from Dave and Sam. As a Muslim, I must admit, Christian ministries do offer aid to impoverished Muslims – for this we (Muslims) should thank our Christian friends. I sincerely hope Nabeel’s ministry does focus on humanitarian efforts too.

The recounting of the assault, by Lara Logan, is stomach churning in its details. I wonder if the bigots feel a tinge of remorse in which they misused such an incident.

Oh, and unsurprisingly, our bigoted ‘friends’ glossed over the fact MUSLIM WOMEN and MUSLIM SOLDIERS came to the war reporter’s aid. Our Christian friends keep telling us how they have the ‘Holy Spirit dwelling within them’ yet it appears roughly half of the American Christian population* considers Mormons to be Christians whilst others would passionately decry it as polytheism!

The real question is why in the world are the ‘Holy Spirit inspired Christians’ in utter disagreement on the issue of Mormons - why can't they differentiate between polytheism and their faith if they truly have the 'Holy Spirit dwelling within'? Interesting.

BTW, in case you want a serious answer to the question, it’s simple; Christians do not, despite their beliefs, have the ‘Holy Spirit dwelling within’, thus are prone to such theological disagreements.

In this conversion story, Kamal Saleem was healed by the doctors through conventional medical means (in this version, ‘Jesus’ did not heal him nor did he visit him at hospital ).

Kamal Saleem went to the doctor’s home to convalesce and fully recuperate after being discharged from hospital. Once he was well enough to take care of himself, Kamal Saleem had his hospital bills paid for by donations from local Christians and was also given a new car. He went home and questioned his ‘Muslim faith’ and then had a vision of ‘Jesus’ in his home.

Kamal Saleem claimed he saw ‘Jesus’ and was healed by him in the hospital

BUT Kamal contradicted himself by claiming he recovered at the hands of the doctors (no mention of seeing ‘Jesus’ in hospital nor being healed by ‘Jesus’) and went home and saw ‘Jesus’ after attempting suicide.

BUT BUT Kamal Saleem in another conversion story has no mention of seeing ‘Jesus’ or being healed by ‘Jesus’ – the doctors and Christian love changed his life.

So which is it:

1. Was Kamal's 'conversion' due to being visited and healed by 'Jesus' in hospital?

2. OR was Kamal's conversion due to him recovering from a car accident, then going home once fully recovered to question his Muslim faith and seeing 'Jesus' in his home.

3. OR was Kamal's conversion due to Christian love and kindness from the doctors and the community who took him in?

I received this email from a Dearborn citizen (?) a while ago:

David Wood and Nabeel don't want you to know this about Dearborn, MI. The Muslims in Dearborn are funny and like to have fun. They are not fanatics. Most of the Muslims in Dearborn are nominal Muslims. David claims honor killings are covered up by the Dearborn police. This is impossible for a number of reasons. First, the majority of Muslims in Dearborn are Shia from southern Lebanon. Who was the most respected Shiite cleric in Lebanon? It was Grand Ayathollah Fadlallah. He issued a fatwa against Honor Killings and a fatwa saying women have the right to defend themselves in domestic abuse. Lets grant David that the city of Dearborn is under control of Muslims (which is a lie that David likes to tell). Since the vast majority of Shia in Dearborn are from Lebanon where Ayatollah Fadlallah was looked on as an authoritative figure wouldn't that in turn mean that the Shia in Dearborn would also be against honor killings? How would David Wood reconcile that? David claims in the 61st page of his lawsuit that the Police coverup Muslim honor killings in Dearborn. David is a liar.

Christians please employ a modicum of common sense when Christian bigots talk about Muslims. I’m simply asking you to question bigots who hijack the church in order to push themselves into the spotlight. Rest assured there will be some of this ilk at the Dearborn ArabFest 2011. It turns out Alan has been an employee for National Geographic for over 20+ years, while PZ Meyrs seems to be a recent addition to the staff. Alan also discovered that PZ Meyrs made some distasteful comments about Muslims and Islam on his blog. Get this: that blog he uses is OWNED by National Geographic. Take note of the expletives when you read over his blog, but NatGeo is oblivious to what he says there.

Violent video games were designed by the military to desensitize soldiers to train them to kill!

Hamza Yusuf references a neuroscientist at a conference on pornography who presented research showing people who are addicted to pornography have had their minds rewired. The effect on young children/adolescents (teenagers) can only be imagined!

Christians and Muslims should work together in spreading the word on the dangers of pornographic material and violent video games. Lobbying your local politician could be a good starter for mass action.

Kamal Saleem has been milking gullible Christians (for cash) with his terrorist turned Christian charade for long enough. Discerning Muslims, Christians and secularists have been speaking out against Kamal Saleem’s fanciful stories for a while now – yet there are still some Christian folk out there who support Kamal Saleem.

Endangering Kamal Saleem’s life?

I have no issue with Kamal Saleem using a pseudonym but when he is presenting an obviously fanciful story in milking gullible Christians (for cash) whilst coyly concealing details which would pinpoint him as a fraud, then good folk need to speak out.

I received an email from a person purporting to be Kamal Saleem’s nephew. Obviously, the claims within the email cannot be verified but making it public consumption could benefit folk who are investigating Mr Saleem. For what it’s worth here is the email concerning Kamal Saleem’s identity and past:

Kamal Saleem real name is Khodor Kamal Saleem Al Shami and he is my
uncle.Kamal his father and Saleem is his grand father. My mom is the

In checking this out I noticed Reza Aslan and Doug Howard lend support to the above email.

Reza Aslan has a similar name for Kamal Saleem: Kamal Saleem, whose real name is Khodor Shami, worked for Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network for sixteen years, and was hired by Focus on the Family in 2003. In 2006, he launched Koome Ministries, whose mission is to “expose the true agenda of [Muslims] who would deceive our nation and the free nations of the world... Christians don’t believe Kamal Saleem’s Conversion story

I will tell you Kamal Saleem has THREE DIFFERENT conversion stories. However, Christians have found his conversion story to be implausible for other reasons – one of which being Mr. Saleem’s concealing of details and names of folk/places involved:

How is it all these ‘Holy Spirit inspired Christians’ are unable to see Kamal Saleem as the fraud he clearly is? I shall tell you this murky saga does not bode well in Christian attempts to convince non-christians of Pauline Christianity. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot whilst emptying your wallets to an obvious con man!
