This must be shocking for Dr Bassim Gorial's Aramaic Broadcasting Network. One of ABN's presenters (Sam Shamoun) offers a criteria in his argumentation against Muslims which winds up rejecting the Trinity. His criteria is if it's not mentioned in the Bible by word then it should be rejected.
The Trinity is not mentioned in the Bible. Sir Anthony Buzzard counts 12000 accounts of 'God' in the Bible yet none of these accounts mention 'Trinity', 'triune' or 'three in one'. Think about that.
As for whether Jesus and the other Prophets were Muslims, of course they were Muslims. A Muslim is somebody who submits to the Will of God. All Prophets submitted to do the Will of God.
In fact the Bible in James 4:7 instructs people to actually submit to God:
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

ReplyDeleteYour comment was deleted. You were suggesting that the criteria that Shamoun used was due to him mirroring arguments against the Trinity.
That's a falsehood. View the episode and you will see. Come back and apologise once you have done so as well.
As for calling in, I didn't even know their week long thing was taking place till you informed me.
In any case, I ended up doing better than calling, didn't I?
You seem to be an ABN fan. Wach this space for some challenges sent their way.
Peace
Oh and the comments related to your link were deleted too. I didn't bother clicking on the link.
ReplyDeleteWhy be an errand boy for those folk?
Snowman deleting comments I can see why you didn't call in
ReplyDeleteMuslims are so scared it isn't funny. Censorship is there only hope. Unfortunately, I don't think Sam and the boys need your support.
ReplyDeleteThat should be "fortunately"
ReplyDeleteFrom Minoria:
ReplyDeleteI have just seen the video and yes,I agree with Yahya that, checking James 4:7,the idea of a submitter/in Arabic muslim,is there.
But I disagree with Anthony Buzzard:
1.The NT says the Holy Spirit is God(in Acts with Peter, and in Hebrews 3:7-11)
2.And at least Muslims will agree John says Jesus was God,in John chapter 1.
3.And the NT has the Father as God.
4.And the NT also says in several passages that there is only ONE God.So there you have the essence of the Trinity.

ReplyDeleteI disagree with Paul Williams about the historical Jesus never saying he was God,he HAD TO say it.
The reason is JEREMIAH 23:5-6,which says the Messiah would be Yahweh:
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will
raise unto David a righteous Branch/netzer(Note:a descendant of David),
and a KING shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called,
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS/Yahweh Tsidkenu."
DIFFERENT CUSTOMS
In Hebrew before it was allowed to pronounce God's name,Yahweh, then in the 3rd cent BC it was forbidden.
Before the Jews named inanimate objects like altars and cities with the name of Yahweh THIS and THAT.There are like 4 examples in the OT.
TODAY they would not even name a future TEMPLE of JERUSALEM with the name Yahweh this or that.
THEN AND TODAY
A Jew can name his son "God is Great/Eloh Gibbor(I think that is the Hebrew)"
I think NO MUSLIM would name his son ALLAHU AKBAR.
A Jew can also use a PORTION(but never the COMPLETE name of God) as part of his name, like Eliyah(and not Eliyahweh)(contraction of Yahweh is God).
But NEVER can you call a HUMAN,man or woman,in Judaism,Yahweh this or that.It is saying he is Yahweh.
THIS SUPPORTS THE GOSPEL OF JOHN AS BEING RELIABLE
