Hypocrisy Meter Explodes: Calvinists on Saudi Arabian 'New Laws' (Atheists, Terrorists)

So according to reports Saudi Arabia has put in place new laws which identifies those who call for atheist thought as terrorists.

Firstly, why would the Western Christian really care about some laws in Saudi Arabia that does not affect them? It's not like they live there, is it? If somebody does not want to live under the laws in Saudi Arabia then aren't they not free to leave the country?

Secondly, the abject hypocrisy of the Christian Islamophobes is astounding; they look to demonize Muslims yet never criticise their theological leader, John Calvin. John Calvin supported the killing of heretics:

Calvin went to his deathbed believing that the execution was just because Servetus was a blasphemer and a heretic

Thirdly, Christian Islamophobes, be they Calvinists or not, believe Jesus (p) ordered the killing of apostates:

One wonders why the Christian right wing on the net is making a big show of laws reportedly being enforced in Saudi Arabia. One wonders if they actually understand Christian theology and the Bible or whether their unhealthy hatred of Muslims clouds their ability to reflect with consistency...

Here's a snip from two reports on Saudi Arabia and atheists:

Daily MailSaudi Arabia has officially identified atheists as terrorists in sweeping new laws that threaten up to 20 years in prison for almost any criticism of the government or Islam.

The regulations place secular citizens who commit thought crimes in the same category as violent terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda's Yemen branch and Saudi Hezbollah.

Under the new decree by King Abdullah, Saudi Arabia will jail for up to 20 years anyone who fights in conflicts abroad - an apparent move to deter Saudis from joining rebels in Syria.

But the law also applies to any Saudi citizen or a foreigner residing in the kingdom that 'calls for atheist thought in any form or calls into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion on which this country is based.'

The Independent - Article one of the new provisions defines terrorism as "calling for atheist thought in any form, or calling into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion on which this country is based".

  1. Yahya, two wrongs don't make a right. It's ridiculous to not oppose Saudi Arabia on their declaration against Atheists.

I strongly disagree with Atheism, but that doesn't make it right to call them terrorists.
