The Role of Social Media in Exposing the Israeli Army

Technology is a blessing in disguise for the catastrophe in Palestine (and elsewhere). While the images of the children and innocents murdered by the terrorists (aka the Israeli army) move us to tears and remind us of our helplessness, they also serve to alert the broader public who do not understand the inhumanity of the Israelis who the real perpetrators are.

Muslims are spreading these images amongst themselves, but they do not understand that the average American still ...believes all of Hamas is (and by extension all Palestinians are) a terrorist organization, and Israel is only 'defending itself'. This imaginary narrative perpetuated by mainstream American media stations will only be countered by hard facts - facts that images and videos brilliantly convey. It is difficult looking at the body of a baby with his brains blown out, or dead kids who were playing soccer on the beach, as 'terrorists' that Israel has to defend itself against.

For the first time, we are seeing the beginnings of an anti-Israeli wave, from comedians to singers to Hollywood celebrities. Politicians will be the last, because AIPAC and other pro-Israeli lobbies finance their campaigns. But even politicians will have to come around in the end (as they did for civil rights and other issues that they were themselves not keen on promoting).

Therefore once again, I urge ALL Muslims not to trivialize the role of social media. Post noteworthy news items, images, and videos on your Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Together, and with the help of Allah, we represent a more powerful force than Fox News, CNN, ABC, BBC and all the other groups combined.
