Thoughts on the Ahmadiyya wedding expulsion A while ago, a member of Ahmadiya was prosletyzing to me. His argument was convoluted and based on some sort of supposed prophecy (if I recall correctly). It was pretty vague stuff but this Ahmadi seemed convinced by it.

I don't know much about Ahmadis but this latest episode of excommunication presents further question marks. Please think about it.

On December 30th 2010, 26 members of the Ahmadiyya faith were ex-communicated from the Ahmadiyya religious community.

May Allah guide them away from the false path of Ahmadiyya and to the truth of Islam.

Comment: I really pray the 26 members, who have been publicly denounced by one of their leaders, come to the true path of Islam.

I have never understood why they add this belief in Mirza Gulam Ahmed into their aqida.

Soul Searching Over Criticism of Acts 17 Apologetics?

Siding with Acts 17 is the RIGHT thing to do

It has just passed midnight here - don't worry I have not been celebrating New Year so I am writing this with a sobre mind. I shall not go to bed before finishing this piece.

After the trial and the "not guilty" verdict I have been left with the feeling the Dearborn Police Department set Acts 17 (Wood, Qureshi, Mayel and Rzkalla) up. It is obvious. They botched up spectacularly and their desire to gain revenge for Acts 17's reporting of the 2009 Dearborn farce moved them into the realms of dishonesty.

The police force are corrupt. They were motivated by revenge. What type of farce are they operating here? The type of farce that sees four innocent  people arrested under the shallowest of prenises. Absolute desperation and corruption.

Acts 17 SHOULD sue and SHOULD win their law suit and certainly be offered some sort of compensation.

Negeen Mayel's guilty verdic SHOULD be over turned at appeal.

Roger Williams SHOULD offer public repentence and an apology.

The Dearborn Police Department SHOULD hang their heads in shame - especially the protagonists and the chief of police. In fact the chief should certainly resign if he has not already done so.

The Mayor is a disgrace. Yes, he is. He should be removed from his post or leave with a shred of dignity, that is to say he SHOULD resign.

The critics of Acts 17 need to take stock of whether the critique is fair or not. MOST critique, in fact ALL critique, has been unfair to varying extents. Of course, NOT all critics have been unfair on purpose but have been rash or misinformed. The critics SHOULD hang their heads in shame.

Those who rejoiced in the "arrests" (now proven false) SHOULD rethink their ways and question their intentions.

Of course, one can point the finger all day long but the one wagging the finger needs to look at himself. I have indeed blogged on the subject and spent more time on this episode than I would have liked. Looking back I feel the episode was deconstructive. What real positive could have been gained from such blogging and vlogging?

At times, we as Muslims get carried away and think EVERY Christian critic of Islam lies in EVERY instance and we lose a sense for genuine balance. A genuine balance that religious folk should strive for.
Qureshi in his short initial piece informed of the arrest and somehow, I wound up with the footage and my reporting on the episode began. A reporting which flew in the face of Acts 17's pleas of innocence.

So did they "disturb the peace"? No. They were set up by the cops! The cops deceived us all and led us into condemning innocent people. Criticising people based on conjecture (guess work) and false/dubious reports from Roger Williams, RevHaytham, the Mayor, Dearborn Police chief and the cops iimplicated.

I know I offered an apology previously as well as posting on their "not guilty" verdict but I think I should do so again. Of course, I shall be reviewing and/or removing the material I have posted on the subject over the course of the next few weeks but I do want to make it clear at the festival this group did nothing which broke the law of the land. The real criminals are the police force.

Suffice it to say, it would be criminal of you to not apologize if you impugned the group based on conjecture and misinformation which was pumped out by the police and the other folk.

I have appended their summary of the events so their critics can gain a more accurate picture of what actually transpired rather than relying on shady police reports and misinformation from the mayor.

On a Christian missionary satellite TV show (ABN) Walid Shoebat revealed his desire to nuke (nuclear bomb) Muslims. I was lost for words. Here we have a Christian fundamentalist who bangs on about “Islam is violent” yet he wants to eradicate Muslims from the face of the earth. Self projection on the part of Walid?

I was surprised the host, Samar Gorial, never rebuked him for such a comment. In fact they carried on merrily with the rest of their show – "Jihad Exposed" – yes, that’s what they named the show. I guess the only “Jihad” they exposed was Walid Shoebat’s nuclear “Jihad”.

Muslims should be balanced
We as Muslims should be mindful of Islamophobia but always maintain fairness and distinguish between the moderate Christians and the extremists. NOT all Christians want to butcher us – in fact MOST would OPPOSE Walid Shoebat’s views. Walid’s views are certainly not compatible with the teachings of Muhammad or Jesus (pbut).

Quite where this radical Christian acquired such views is beyond us. I sensed Walid is cut off from a path constructive path and has fallen onto a destructive path. I invite Walid Shoebat to Islam so he can adopt a constructive path in which he is at peace with his Creator.

May Allah protect and guide us all. Ameen.

What Every Christian Needs to Know about the Qur'an – by James White

Dr James White is planning to write a book on Islam and he has already got the title in mind. Given White’s history of blunder and dishonesty with regards to Islam, can we really expect something other than a blunder-filled missionary tome?

A Scholarly Book on ISLAM by Dr James White?

As one commentator asked, can we really trust James White to give a truthful book about Islam? His answer said it all – “never in a million years”.

Now, folk who are unfamiliar with James White will be thinking why in the world is he so untrustworthy. Well, White has a history of blundering about Islam. Once called out for such blunders he either (dishonestly) maintains he is correct or remains silent and never corrects the blunder. Yep, White KNOWINGLY leaves his readers/viewers misinformed. How difficult is it to edit a video or an online article and correct it? Not difficult at all for those who have a regard for accuracy – White is lacking in this regard!

Dr James White has NOT READ the books he requires!!!

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Our James has NOT EVEN READ the books he plans to use for the writing of his book. Does that make sense? He has planned the title and the objectives, but has not read the books he will use. Odd.

You may be thinking "how do you know he has not read the books"? Well, he has not even purchased the books. In fact, he is asking people off the internet to purchase them for him!

Are you jerking our chain?

I’m serious. He wants YOU to buy him the books he will use to help write his book. Perhaps he will share the profits with us!

James White under the heading “Here's How You Can Help” writes “Human nature being what it is, there is a downside to my going into "book mode." It's pretty simple: we are a small ministry. We do not have fund raisers….”

“…. I use the Ministry Resource List to obtain the materials I need for these projects, and I have put a number of such resources on that list just recently, one of which is mighty expensive, but it would be incredibly helpful”

I popped over to his ministry resource list. There are six books he is wanting (I believe at least five are for this book). I have presented a screenshot and I have noticed one of them is yet to be released.

Profit sharing? Standard procedure? I don’t know!

He has decided the title and aims of the book without having read the relevant Islamic material. Is this standard procedure? I don’t know - it seems odd.

Is White simply going to quote mine from these books or is he actually going to read and understand them? If he actually studies them then surely it will be extremely difficult for him to write TWO books (one is unrelated to Islam) and READ and DIGEST all six books he wants us to purchase for him within a year (whilst travelling to London and Ireland as well as maintaining the podcasts). What type of standard of work are we expecting here? A concoction of internet polemics and quotes mined from books he has not digested? I don’t know.

Dishonesty and inconsistency – history of James White

James White used a fabrication (from a CHRISTIAN missionary hit piece) and attributed the source to a MUSLIM scholarly work. Furthermore, James White has never acknowledged where he got the fabrication from – nor has he acknowledged the erroneous nature of the fabrication he used. How difficult is it to admit he (unknowingly) used a fabrication thinking it was a legitimate source? Not difficult at all to those who value intellectual honesty and accuracy.

I have personally rebuked him from this very blog. I rebuked him for using a “made up” translation of a Quranic Verse – YES, he decided against using a recognised translation from the NUMEROUS out there and used one made up by his pal (a chap who makes his own up to convince people Islam allows BESTIALITY!!!) - Just made up and totally fallacious!

Once called out for this our James White, to his audience, maintained he was correct by linking to the MADE UP (and proven wrong) translation by his pal. Dishonest, inconsistent and sad – how difficult would it have been to have a regard for accuracy and admitting the blunder and abjuring oneself? Not difficult at all. Furthermore, White was rebuked to linking to an article which carried ANOTHER made up translation – White labelled this as “excellent Quranic insights”. This highlights his utter lack of regard for truth and consistency. He has STILL NOT BOTHERED to correct the error:

Dr White ...Insufficient and unfounded arguments

NOTE: the reason why White has never acknowledged (nor corrected) the above blunders are due to his pride and his desire to appear reliable and learned regarding Islam. Sadly, many Christian evangelists want to present themselves as learned in Islam despite being incompetent in such a subject. Just look at the sad example of the now shamed Ergun Caner.

In my opinion, James White appears to be angling for a teaching job vis-à-vis Islam in Christian apologetics classes. White is terribly blunder-prone and intellectually dishonest. These classes would be better served by bringing in folk who have a regard for consistency, accuracy and integrity.

Unchristian behaviour plus dishonest and unruly friends/colleagues

Firstly, let’s start with James White. White and his colleague have been caught on RADIO insulting Russian and Mormon (Brigham Young’s wives) women based on appearance. They have even gained years of “entertainment” in doing so. White has never apologized for this outrageous bout of audio:

Sam Shamoun – this is James’ teacher and close friend. Sam Shamoun is the most shamed of Christian apologists – even more so than Ergun Caner. Sam Shamoun, in 2008 presented the thighing hoax as fact despite it being made up by Arab Christians on the net – perhaps these were Sam’s colleagues and/or friends. We don’t know as Sam Shamoun has gone all silent on us

Moreover, Sam has put James in hot water as James has been borrowing from Sam. Sadly, this borrowing meant James wound up using MADE UP AND ERRONEOUS Quranic translations – White was absolutely oblivious to it, which just further impugns White’s scholarship. Shamoun presents low level lies such as “Islam allows sex with animal”. The moral of the story – choose HONEST friends.

NOTE: James White has been invited to rebuke and disassociate himself from Sam Shamoun’s unruly and uncouth behaviour. White declined. I guess that’s integrity and consistency for you. White rebukes the easy target (Ergun Caner) but the one closer to home get’s away with insult and lies.

Walid Shoebat – James White has gone on record denouncing old Walid [since this article White has gone on record to state he has never communicated with Shoebat and has even declined to appear on the same show as Shoebat and Kamal Saleem. In the conventional sense White is not colleagues with Shoebat or Saleem - he simple appears on the same missionary TV show as them. Perhaps he should let the director, Bassim Gorial, know as to their deceptive ways or stop appearing on the show altogether - it would do wonders for his credibility].
David Wood – Aside from claiming he was arrested because of “Sharia” and other dishonest outrages he has presented a sex hoax whilst claiming it to be a fact, this is the SAME hoax his friend Shamoun presented two years earlier. How sad.

Kamal Saleem – [as per Shoebat, see above] This one makes up his own Ahadith literature. Yes, he fabricates hadith amongst other lies and blunders.

Nabeel Qureshi – he knowingly uses fallacious translations of Ahadith literature. He has STILL not come clean and corrected himself. A sad indictment of James White’s inability is White’s featuring of Nabeel Qureshi’s dishonest work – White is STILL featuring such misleading work!

Pastor Joseph – this is James White’s friend and colleague on ABN. He presents lies such as Islam allows homosexuality amongst other outrages.

The old adage “A man is on the path of his friend” is quite telling and impugning.

Conclusion

James White is out of his league. The only relationship he should be having with a book concerning Islamic matters is that of a reader not as a writer. Sadly, the hunt for kudos and a few extra dollars is quite a self-deluding tool.

Our advice to James is to clean up his act and spend time studying, correcting his previous blunders and double checking his previous work - even Catholics (Catholicism is an area James knows much better than Islam) are calling him out on past inconsistencies and blunders. Time better served, James.

Senior Muslim scholars are wary of TV shows which put scholars in a position to give edicts via phone-in shows. The reason behind the warning is to guard against error. Contrast this prudency with James White’s recklessness - he is writing a book despite being unqualified and error-prone.

We shall not recommend his book to anyone. Obviously, some Muslim apologists may purchase it in order to sift for errors but those who are interested in learning should be mindful where you take your education from. Here is a suggestion to his followers, rather than relying on the unreliable why not sift through material yourself and do your OWN research. Just a suggestion…

Thus knowledge constitutes your deen (religion), so be wary of whom you take your religion from – Ibn Sirin [Ibn Hibban credited this statement to other scholars too]

Nothing in Islam Justifies Al Qaeda – Shaykh Waleed Basyouni

Sadly, there is a great deal of demonization of Islam by Islamophobes who are bent on framing Islam for the crime of  9/11, 7/7, Madrid bombing and other terrorist atrocities.

The good news is that we have an expert, Sheikh Waleed Basyouni, to tell us Islam does not allow terrorism or the killing of innocent people. (MUST SEE video)




Sheikh: Prophet Muhammad (p) was AGAINST extremism

The Prophet Muhammad (p) warned against extremism and creating corruption in the land (killing/destroying societies) is totally against the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (p).

Islam does not even allow the killing of a cat so obviously the killing of innocent human beings would not be allowed. The sheikh gives insightful examples to educate us.

NOTHING is Islam which allows World Trade Centre attack

The sheikh confirms there is NOTHING in Islam which allows attacking civilians, hijacking planes actions such as 9/11. He cites a fatwa by senior Saudi scholars - Sheikh Ibn Baz’s fatwa which taught AGAINST such heinous acts.

Sheikh Basyouni: Muslim scholars are opposing terrorists

Terrorists do not simply target Non-Muslims; they have carried out attacks in Algeria, Egypt and other Muslim countries – killing many Muslims.

Muslim scholars are sincere about fighting terrorism. Muslims have been battling extremists for centuries. Great Muslim personalities such as Uthman and Ali (ra) were killed by extremists.

Sheikh Basyouni recognises there is a minority of extremists within Muslim communities and is trying to educate the extremists so they move away from the path of extremism – the sheikh is opposing terrorism and striving to keep Muslims from the destructive and unislamic path of terrorism.

The sheikh speaks on Surah 9:5

The specialist, Sheikh Basyouni, mentions this Verse has a CONTEXT – it was specifically about the pagans of Mecca who were at war with the Prophet (p). The Prophet actually took control of Mecca and he did NOT kill the pagans even though he was in a position to do so.

The sheikh certainly does not consider this Verse/Surah to be justifying terrorism. The sheikh cites Ibn Qayyim who taught the Prophet never ever started a war against a people.

Summary

The expert, Sheikh Waleed Basyouni, does not see anything in Islam which justifies terrorism or Al Qaeda. Muslim scholars (before 9/11) were opposing terrorism and the scholars are sincere in trying to educate extremists away from such destructive paths.

We should learn about Islam from the experts (i.e. Sheikh Waleed Basyouni) rather than agenda-based Islamophobes on the internet or extremists:

As Yusuf Estes mentioned the bigger lie is that of associating partners with God. Christians may present a philosophical harmonization of Jesus and the Holy Spirit with monotheism but the fact remains these are not teachings which emanate from Jesus and are indeed non-biblical. The Bible does, in fact, teach monotheism, if only the Christians would ignore the conjecture and look at the gems in the Bible:

Imam Moustafa Zayed Answers Samar Gorial on ABN Sat - Jizya

It is inevitable disingenuous Islamophobes are indeed going to give rise to a load of misconceptions. Sadly, Samar Gorial of ABN Sat was absolutely oblivious to rulings concerning Jizya despite having a bunch of “experts” as her colleagues. Why is this? Her colleagues consist of some of the most obnoxiously deceptive folk I have had the misfortune of encountering.

As an individual who investigates Christian outreaches to Muslims I can honestly say the outrage which I have witnessed from Samar Gorial’s colleagues and those who support the enterprise is even more debauched than Robert Morey’s fabrication of Ahadith literature.

Samar Gorial was devoid of any sound understanding of Jizyah as her primary teachers are agenda driven - an agenda which is demonization of Muslims. Thank God Muslims are on hand to clear away the bag of tricks, gags and heckles her colleagues of used for obfuscation purposes.

Advice to sincere folk and Samar Gorial

If you want to learn about Islam please do not take the circus act that is the “ABN apologist” as an authority. Erm, one of them makes up his own Quran translation to convince us bestiality is Islamic, the other one peddles sex hoaxes and claims Muslims will chop off your limbs if you fix a church roof, another claims anal sex is Islamic, others claim to be ex terrorists even though nobody of Google-searching ability believes them. Robert Spencer Vs Imam Moustafa Zayed – Part 2

Robert Spencer was sniggering like a schoolboy whilst Sheikh Zayed was clearing up after the circus act.

Spencer has no reason to snigger. He has just been kicked across 400 pages by Sheikh Moustafa - the imam wrote a book refuting Spencer. I have the book and confirm this. Spencer and his pals should be ashamed as they allowed the lady to fall into obvious error.

Just like his book response, imam Zayed was shown to have more class and substance than Robert Spencer.

Robert Spencer would do well to look into “The lies about Muhammad – How you were deceived into Islamophobia”. I guess his arrogance and desire for repute and cash will prevent him; however, I could be wrong.

Paying Jizya is Biblical - Submission to Governing Authorities

Sadly Christians continue to throw their Bible under the bus and dispose every ounce of consistency whilst attacking a perfectly reasonable aspect of Islam. John MacArthur: Jesus Supports War (Defensive Jihad)

Christian apologists seem to bend over backwards to present Jesus (pbuh) as a complete pacifist. Why would it be so terrible to even view Jesus (pbuh) as a Prophet who allowed defensive Jihad? There is no reason. Liberal Christian apologists are pandering to the secular humanists in the West.

No. A prominent Christian theologian who has studied at Biola University, John Macarthur seems to see no insult in portraying Jesus as a supporter of defensive Jihad – in the context of war.

This just goes to show the Bible can be interpreted in many ways. During the inquisition and crusades Christians were imprisoning, torturing, butchering, murdering, raping and pillaging under Christian leadership. Which interpretation?

 Christian extremists like portraying Islam as a faith which sanctions terrorism while the SCHOLARS teach the terrorists are distorting and misusing Islamic texts. Muslim scholarly condemnation is consistent and is certainly more authoritative than the ramblings of the Christian right wing.

However, the Christian right are war mongers and will certainly use their Bibles to justify American aggression in the Middle East and elsewhere. Think about it, would “Christian” America REALLY be bombing Iraqi and Afghan kids if no American Christian supported them? Christians need to admit there are extremists within Christianity who have access to far more potent and destructive tools than the rag tag folk which comprise Al Qaida.


Christian terrorism is more dangerous

We should also admit “Christian” terrorism has claimed more lives and heaped more misery upon the innocent than “Muslim” terrorism. Whilst we are telling a few home truths we can state Muslims have denounced “Muslim” terrorism whilst Christians have not really denounced “Christian” terrorism nearly as much – in fact their terrorism is under the guise of “war”.

Point of interest - Jesus and Muhammad similarities [pbut]

Jesus is very much like the Prophet Muhammad. During the Meccan phase, Muhammad was in a powerless position which resembles the situation Jesus found himslef in during his whole lifetime. Of course, Jesus was a minority so certainly could not have taken on the Roman subjugators via war. Perhaps this is the reason behind Jesus not partaking in war.

Prophet Muhammad, during the Medinan phase, found himself in a position to fight back and oppose the transgressors physically - which he did. Jesus will have a similar phase upon his second coming - he will have power to oppose disbelievers. He will kill disbelievers and will kill the Antichrist. This, my friends, is what a heavy dose of Islamophobia does to people. The man has no regard for Muslim life or CHRISTIAN life – there are Christians living in Iraq.

Recently Muslims condemned the criminal actions of a minority in Iraq who were persecuting Christians. The Christian Islamophobes in America (and the Arabs on ABN) were having a field day in using their tears for these poor Iraqi Christians to fuel their anti-Muslim propaganda campaign.

I guess those tears must have been crocodile – that’s to say they were disingenuous. This American fundamentalist Christian and the two Arab Christians on the show clearly have no regard for the sanctity of life. These folk sound like they are straight out from a death cult.

This bloke is actually agreeing with the bigot caller despite being IRAQI himself and having family in IRAQ, I guess the American fundamentalists have colonised his mind and his goal is to please his new masters. Quite what James White’s female colleagues (Haifa Gorial, Samar Gorial, Mary Jo Sharp etc) think of James White’s attitude and actions over the years leaves one wondering.

I would really like to see Mary Jo Sharp of Confident Christianity respond to this as she is the standard-bearer for females in Christian apologetics – surely this is yet another setback in the quest to attract more female Christian apologists.

James White and his pal did not simply misspeak. White reveals he has been gaining “enjoyment” from this type of LEWD AND DGRADING ridicule for “YEARS”. Why White is deciding to share such information with us at the twilight of his career is puzzling.

Episodes like those outlined are indeed regular in the world of Christian apologetics – a sad indictment on the failed sate Christian apologetics lies therein.

The Holy Spirit?

Fundamentalist Christians always claim to be guided by the Holy Spirit yet their leaders (in apologetics) are engaged in unedifying behaviour, deception, inconsistency and inaccuracy. Surely, this is food for thought.

We have personally caught Christians in acts of deception and inconsistency on numerous occasions – just flick through some of the pages on this blog and you will see Christians peddling astonishing sex hoaxes, debauched lies and outrageous inconsistencies.

It was a toss up between posting insight from the scholarly Geza Vermes or lowering the tone by turning attention towards Sam Shamoun and his pal, Keith Truth (aka Keith Thomson). Sadly, Shamoun and his cohorts are jumping through hoops to gain attention – even if it means trampling on the Bible in the process

“Biblical Mockery” - ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH?

All those posts showcasing Sam Shamoun’s penchant for insult and childish name-calling have been explained away as “Biblical mockery” – by Shamoun’s pal, KeithTruth. Shamoun is allowing such a farce to “protect” the remnants of his tattered and egotistical apologetics “career” – I use the word career in a loose sense.

Jibreelk pours cold water on the two “Christians” – Shamoun even had the misguided audacity to claim his actions were sanctioned by the Prophet Muhammad (p)!




A Joke

So these two “Christians” are claiming Shamoun’s outbursts are BIBLICAL and PROPHETIC. What a joke. I don’t want to dignify such nonsense any further. True Christians can feel free to rebuke these two miscreants who have hijacked the Bible to peddle their whims and deficiencies.

The good news is that a Muslim has called them out on the issue. Jibreelk has responded to KeithTruth’s farce. I want to add Keith was rather deceptive to boot as he injected some OLD and unrelated Muslim insults from Pal Talk in his attempt to justify Shamoun’s outbursts – oops, sorry Keith, I forgot you call them “Biblical”. Since when was the unprovoked calling of people “snakes”, “dogs”, “cowards” and insulting opposing faiths classified as Biblical? Since Keith and Shamoun decided to do some damage control.

NOTE: ALL Shamoun’s UNBIBLICAL (sorry Keith, even a blind man can see it’s NOT Biblical) audio outbursts featured on this blog have indeed been unchallenged. NOBODY else was on the “mic” abusing or provoking Shamoun. I only possessed audio.

Deception ensures those donations will not dry up, eh Keith?

Keith misdirected Christian audiences into believing Shamoun was being provoked. He fetched audio of Nadir Ahmed – which is YEARS OLD! He also played something old from Zaatari and someone unknown. Why? Because of DECEPTION and DEFLECTION.

NONE of Keith’s audio had any bearing on (or relation to) Shamoun’s outbursts. I guess Keith and Shamoun were worried all those donations would be drying up.

Come on, who in the world is going to donate cash to Shamoun whilst knowing the truth about him. The truth is no obstacle for Keith – he just hurdles over it and misleads his co-religionists. Christians, why do you put up with this? Surely your EXPECT accountability?

Does the Name of Muhammad Appear in Song of Solomon 5:16? Further discussion.

Christians have begun to respond to Muslim arguments concerning the Song of Solomon 5:16. I was sent an HOUR LONG video on this subject despite it only requiring 5 minutes to say what they wanted to say (i.e. the reference is an adjective)

The Song of Solomon is ripe for picking out allegorical meanings due to its very nature.Many Muslims present it as a direct reference to the Prophet Muhammad and the Christians simply respond by claiming it is an adjective (“full of sweetness”) rather than a name and thus the conversation ends. Rebuking Mary Jo Sharp?

Initially I felt Mary Jo should be rebuked for not correcting the caller’s erroneous claim of “Jesus sending the Prophet” whilst on air – as she had the translation in front of her. However, I will put this down to human error on her part.

How shocking! Insulting somebody in such a manner was childish but the egg was well and truly on “Pastor” Joseph Najm’s face as he was caught in deception and ignorance. May Allah guide this shamed man to reformation. Ameen.

Where were Gary Cobb and Pastor Vance?

Gary Cobb and/or Pastor Vance should have put an end to the deceptive charade immediately. Surely they had a translation of the Quran on their person? Come on Gary and Vance, feel free to step in and prevent your colleagues from uttering deception and insult.

Surely Pastor Vance felt calling somebody a “son of a gun” was going too far. Is that edifying to the church?

A word on Pastor Joseph Najm (Joseph “Star”)

His surname is translated as “star”. He was lacking sparkle in the video.

Is this bloke for real? He even claims to be an ex-Muslim. Peculiar stuff indeed – since when was “Joseph” a Muslim name? I would understand Yusuf, but Joseph? It’s getting fishy.

Was James White dishonest?

I don’t believe White can be accused of outright dishonesty. I guess it was a misdirection which will be passed off as a “debate tactic” no doubt. However, it is intellectually dishonest as it dismisses Price’s thesis in a sneaky fashion WITHOUT interacting with his argumentation. White, if he wants to indulge in serious scholarship should try and interact with the INTERNAL arguments Price has put forward to prop his claim. Just a suggestion…

Did Price base his article upon internal factors? Yes, he eve mentions he does not have manuscript evidence to support his thesis. . It is of interest to apologetics to note William Lane Craig has interacted on the issue – Dr Craig did not resort to such misdirection – as far as I am aware.

White: A history of debate blunder

If the reviewer was so annoyed at White’s little misdirection he can certainly empathise with Muslims who were aggrieved with James White’s two-fold shoddy scholarship. In a debate with Shabir Ally, White cites a non-existent “narration”. Still to this day I have not seen White give an explanation as to where this “narration” came from though some Muslims have found it came from a dubious Christian missionary tome. Yep, those missionaries do make stuff up – just have a look at pg 193 from Dr Robert Morey’s Islamic Invasion

The second is extremely worrying, in a debate with Sheikh Awal, White presented a claim of “Allah repenting in the Quran”. This was nonsense and he was soon denounced for such a nonsensical claim and even accused of LYING. It turned out; in his defence he cited a shoddy missionary website run by his friend as support!

Sadly, White to this day maintains he is correct and ALL the translators of the Quran are incorrect (his pal’s translation has also been shown to be grammatically incorrect in itself). By the way, his friend is notorious for amking up translations - he was caught making one such up whilst trying to convince his fellow "Bible believing" Christians that Islam "allows sec with animals!

Folks this is not scholarship; this is school boy stuff. This is a reason why debates should never be your primary station of learning. I feel sorry for the “Bible believing” Christians who swallow such fundamentalist fudging.

Did James White “lie” in the Greg Stafford debate?

The reviewer makes such a claim. I have contacted him to explain such a statement. Of course we cannot accuse White of lying based on the reviewer’s say so. Perhaps those of his followers could help stimulate him into clarification…

Debates and buying/selling debates

A whole host of debate tactics (including dishonesty) and telescoping (due to time restraints) can result in serious truth seekers being misled.

James White is a career debater/apologist, thus he seems to be debating every fortnight and putting such up for sale on his site. Muslims should not be buying such material unless they are involved in serious apologetics – that means having GROUNDING in Islam first.

In my view Muslim “debaters” should NOT imitate White. How many times can one debate the same topic? Ultimately you end up making a mockery out of faith – nowadays debates are entertainment and the lay are drawn by the clash of individuals rather than the debate topic.

The reviewer accuses White of having a propensity to veer off topic in debates. Surely it is disrespectful to the audience to do so especially if they have spent some cash in purchasing the debate. I am on the cheap side so…

OK, I understand White seeking financial assistance but the “Christian” rabble rousers who cling onto him have no business asking for cash. Why it is “Christian” apologists on the internet think they have a God given right for finances from the “Christian” lay. I have never understood that – especially so with the “Christian” outreaches to Muslims which are full of lie, hoax and outrage. Come on, how those in White’s crew can seriously expect payment for such hate-filled nonsense as “Islam allows sex with animals”.

Really, is this “scholarship” worthy of “financial assistance”? Here is one presenting his “research” to his donors:

Christians, please think CRITICALLY

As Robert Price teaches do your OWN critical reading and don’t rely on what this person or that person is saying. Also, watch out for the misleading half-truths and blatant lies “Christian” apologists present to you. Apart from the in-your-face- type lies we expose on this blog the Christian apologist claim of having x number of manuscripts as though this somehow confirms the reliability of the document is beyond reprehensible. It, amongst other things, militates against the “God breathed” claim our Christian friends append to the Bible.

Prior to Tischendorf’s 1859 find the “Bible believing” Christians would have felt secure in reading the last chunk in Mark 16, enough said. Christians, think critically.

A quick thought on the appearance to the “more than 500”

You would imagine there to be numerous individual accounts recording such an appearance? Surely they would have told their respective stories INDIVIDUALLY and recordings made. After all, it would be deemed something to write home about, right?

Notes of interest from Robert Price’s theorizing

Walker’s (conspiracy) theory of standardization of the Pauline corpus to meet the then orthodox views is all very interesting but does away with any idea of a pre-third century manuscript existing – thus there will NEVER be MS evidence substantiating interpolation within any epistle. It puts White’s misdirection into shame – one can further understand the reviewer’s grievance!

All Price has to work with; “aporias, contradictions, stylistic irregularities, anachronisms, redactional seams”. The notion that Paul could have been a Gnostic is useful interest – perhaps further exploration is required here.

Robert Price begins talking our language with “uncertainty”. He has a point, why close off the options at two (authentic/inauthentic) – there is room for Price’s third!

Price’s big one

This, in my view is Price’s biggy, concerning 15:3: “"received / delivered" (paralambanein / paradidonai) is, as has often been pointed out, technical language for the handing on of rabbinical tradition” and THUS this contradicts 1 Galatians 1:11-12 (Paul is claiming he was not taught it and nor did he receive it from any man).

E.L. Allen cites the obvious problem; that is of the story of the (more than) 500 not being registered in the gospel narratives? Internal suspicions are cranked up further.

The appearance to James the Just (1 Corinthians 15:7) is deemed problematic. “John (7:5) and Mark (3:21, 31-35), followed by Matthew (12:46-50), are clear that he was no friend of the ministry of Jesus”. The issue here is if James was an unbeliever then surely a conversion narrative would have been appended. To be fair Luke (Luke 8:19-21; Acts 1:14), does imply the whole family were believers.

I find it interesting Wisse seems to be warning against Price-type theorizing and citing the stability of scholarship as a reason to shun it. Interesting.

Is Ahmad Muhammad? [Surah 61:6 of Quran]

Yes, of course!

Yes, of course Ahmad refers to Muhammad. Ahmad is “the second name of Prophet Muhammad and it (Ahmad) literally means “one who praises Allah more than others” [Hilali-Khan, Interpretation of the meanings of the Noble Quran, Darussalam, 1999, pg 728]

A Christian missionary TV show has been speaking on a Verse of the Quran (Surah 61:6) and the suggestion Ahmad is not Muhammad has been made. Quite why Christian missionaries speak upon topics they have little/no understanding is beyond us and just further discredits their operations and repute. Here is the Verse:

وَإِذۡ قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ يَـٰبَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُم مُّصَدِّقً۬ا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةِ وَمُبَشِّرَۢا بِرَسُولٍ۬ يَأۡتِى مِنۢ بَعۡدِى ٱسۡمُهُ ۥۤ أَحۡمَدُ‌ۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ قَالُواْ هَـٰذَا سِحۡرٌ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬

And (remember) when 'Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allâh unto you confirming the Taurât [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed. But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad SAW) came to them with clear proofs, they said: "This is plain magic." [Dr Mohsin translation Surah 61:6, from Quran explorer]

The verse mentions ٱسۡمُهُ ۥۤ أَحۡمَد (his name is Ahmad). So the Verse is using the name “Ahmad” not “Muhammad”. Ahmad is the superlative form of Muhammad and furthermore the holy Prophet, as narrated in an authentic Hadith, had five names; one of which was “Ahmad”:

Narrated Jubair bin Mut’im: Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, “I have five names: I am Muhammad and Ahmad; I am al Mahi through whom Allah will eliminate Al Kufr (infidelity); I am Al Hashir who will be the first to be resurrected, the people resurrected thereafter; and I am also Al Aqib (ie there will be no Prophet after me) [Sahih al Bukhari, 4/3532 (O.P 732)]

Don't be fooled

I will tell you this Hadith is presented in the Hilali-Khan translation of the Quran as a footnote to S61:6, thus it is not difficult for the Christian missionaries to research it for themselves rather than wasting our time and confusing Muslims and Non-Muslims with their misguided conjecture. May Allah guide them. Ameen.

PS: Somebody on the show was also claiming Jesus “sends” Ahmad. This is incorrect. The Verse (in this regard) teaches Jesus is simply informing people of the good news that ANOTHER Messenger is to come. Allah (God) is the One who sends Prophets!

Ali Ataie Reinvigorates the "Muhammad in the Bible" Discussion

Fascinating and Entertaining

It does help transcend a surface level (or erroneous) understanding on the part of those who are unaware of Islam as well as those who are its detractors. Moses, Jesus and Muhammad as Muslims

Moses would not have described himself as a Jew. The term “Jew” was initially a tribal distinction and came in use as a spiritual distinction after Moses. The term Christian was first introduced as a derogatory term. Moses, Jesus and Muhammad are indeed Muslims; those whom submit their wills to God. Islam transcends tribal distinctions.

The Quran

The Quran carries out 3 purposes with respect to previous Scripture (Bible):

*Corrects aspects of previous scripture

*Abrogates certain aspects as well as superseding as authority

*Confirms parts/theologies of the Bible

MUSLIMS in the Bible

Muslims in Mark 3:35

Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother. [NIV, Mark 3:35]

Muslims in Matthew 5:9 – Using the Peshitta and Hebrew translations
This is could be from (the hypothetical) Q source thus earlier than the epistles of Paul. With it also being a direct quote from Jesus we should give it greater consideration than narrative or material from Paul.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. [NIV Mt 5:9]

Ali Ataie suggests Matthew 5:9 to be a reference to Muslims by appealing to the Peshitta (Syriac translation). The Peshitta indicates the quote in the language of Jesus would have been “blessed are those who make Shalom (peace)”

Ali Ataie also appeals to the Hebrew translation as this would have used the plural word for MUSLIMS!
The “sons of God” reference is metaphorical NOT literal. Also the word for God is thought to be “Allah”.

[Muslims are peacemakers in the sense of greeting each other with “assalamualaikum” (peace be on you). I do want to add; this verse has no similar in the Sermon of the Plain found in Luke 6:17-49 so it cannot be said for certain the verse would have been from Q – if Q existed]

Interesting ISLAMIC Prophecy

Mr Ataie points to a fulfilled prophecy; Muslim eschatology teaches people, in the future, will greet each other with insults. He gives some colourful examples of this occurring today!

Muhammad in the Bible – Continuing the Discussion

Isaiah 42

Ali Ataie firstly appeals to Deutero-Isaiah (the second portion of Isaiah 40-55). Once you read Isaiah 42 it is clear parts of it could be considered a typology of the Prophet Muhammad. The servant of the Lord in Isaiah 42 is suggested, by Ataie, to be Prophet Muhammad. A title of Prophet Muhammad is Abd (slave/servant) of Allah.

Ali Ataie mentions a Jew who recognised Muhammad as a Prophet. Without checking it up I think he was referring to Abdullah bin Salam.

[For the Christian detractor: Rather than an explicit reference to Muhammad, the relevant verses in Isaiah could have been an esoteric foreshadowing of the Prophet Muhammad - don't just dismiss it]

Song of Solomon – Renewing the Discussion

My beloved is radiant and ruddy, outstanding among ten thousand.[NIV Song of Songs, 5:10]

*Habibullah – is a name of Prophet Muhammad (the BELOVED of God)

*Radiant and ruddy - Ali Ataie (who uses the Hebrew text) also appeals to the physical description of the Prophet (Muhammad); his complexion was white mixed with redness.

*Outstanding amongst ten thousands - Ali Ataie suggests the “chief amongst ten thousand” refers to the companions of the Prophet Muhammad who were with him at the time of the Mecca conquest.

His head is purest gold; his hair is wavy and black as a raven.

Ali Ataie informs us Prophet’s hair was indeed black and wavy (his hair was neither straight nor curly)

Going further than the standard Muslim appeal

Ali Ataie gets to verse 16 and goes further than the standard Muslim address on Song of Solomon:

His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, this is my friend, daughters of Jerusalem.

Muhammadim/Machmudim (im is plural). Without the plural the name Muhammad is left.

Origen (early CHRISTIAN scholar 185-254) is brought up as he believed Scripture had multiple levels of meaning. Apparent and esoteric meanings – foreshadowings, typologies. Ataie also appeals to Matthew who also believed Scripture had multiple esoteric meanings to Scripture.

Christian apologists will raise objection but Muslims can retort with an esoteric meaning referencing the final Messenger of God. This response keeps the discussion alive. This portion is found in the ‘Q an A.

Q and A Section

Amongst other points he debunks the Christian polemic of salvation which they level at Muslims as a straw man argument. The issues of terrorism and Jizya came up – unsurprisingly. A question on violence in religion produced interesting discussion – Ataie cites a Jewish Rabbi who claimed MUSLIM Spain was the golden age for Jews!

“360 CE the vast majority of Christian bishops preached Ebionite theology” - quote of the lecture, PLEASE think about it.

Monotheism: Shema and Surah Ikhlas

Christians and Jews who are familiar with the pure monotheism of the Shema (mentioned in Deuteronomy 6:4 and Mark) should look into Sura Ikhlas (chapter 112 of the Quran) and ponder further
