Nothing in Islam Justifies Al Qaeda – Shaykh Waleed Basyouni

Sadly, there is a great deal of demonization of Islam by Islamophobes who are bent on framing Islam for the crime of  9/11, 7/7, Madrid bombing and other terrorist atrocities.

The good news is that we have an expert, Sheikh Waleed Basyouni, to tell us Islam does not allow terrorism or the killing of innocent people. (MUST SEE video)

Sheikh: Prophet Muhammad (p) was AGAINST extremism

The Prophet Muhammad (p) warned against extremism and creating corruption in the land (killing/destroying societies) is totally against the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (p).

Islam does not even allow the killing of a cat so obviously the killing of innocent human beings would not be allowed. The sheikh gives insightful examples to educate us.

NOTHING is Islam which allows World Trade Centre attack

The sheikh confirms there is NOTHING in Islam which allows attacking civilians, hijacking planes actions such as 9/11. He cites a fatwa by senior Saudi scholars - Sheikh Ibn Baz’s fatwa which taught AGAINST such heinous acts.

Sheikh Basyouni: Muslim scholars are opposing terrorists

Terrorists do not simply target Non-Muslims; they have carried out attacks in Algeria, Egypt and other Muslim countries – killing many Muslims.

Muslim scholars are sincere about fighting terrorism. Muslims have been battling extremists for centuries. Great Muslim personalities such as Uthman and Ali (ra) were killed by extremists.

Sheikh Basyouni recognises there is a minority of extremists within Muslim communities and is trying to educate the extremists so they move away from the path of extremism – the sheikh is opposing terrorism and striving to keep Muslims from the destructive and unislamic path of terrorism.

The sheikh speaks on Surah 9:5

The specialist, Sheikh Basyouni, mentions this Verse has a CONTEXT – it was specifically about the pagans of Mecca who were at war with the Prophet (p). The Prophet actually took control of Mecca and he did NOT kill the pagans even though he was in a position to do so.

The sheikh certainly does not consider this Verse/Surah to be justifying terrorism. The sheikh cites Ibn Qayyim who taught the Prophet never ever started a war against a people.

Summary

The expert, Sheikh Waleed Basyouni, does not see anything in Islam which justifies terrorism or Al Qaeda. Muslim scholars (before 9/11) were opposing terrorism and the scholars are sincere in trying to educate extremists away from such destructive paths.

We should learn about Islam from the experts (i.e. Sheikh Waleed Basyouni) rather than agenda-based Islamophobes on the internet or extremists:

Thus knowledge constitutes your deen (religion), so be wary of whom you take your religion from – Ibn Sirin [Ibn Hibban credited this statement to other scholars too]

You will not find an iota whether in the Holy Quran or the quotations of the Prophet (p) that substantiates the killing of one innocent soul, not to mention all the innocent victims of September 11 {pg331, imam Moustafa Zayed – The lies about Muhammad}

salam brother Yahya, i would like to bring to your attention the shoddy scholarship of james white, now that he is writing a book on the Quran we can expect him not to be scholarly as he always claims to be. he has seen the fame anti-Islamic books has brought his chief nemesis ergun caner and although the caner is a serial liar he is still exalted in the american evangelical world. The link i will provide not only shows how similar mr white and his chief Islam teacher sam shamoun are but it also shows how much mr white is a sore loser whom cannot admit when he is wrong especially about his own religion!!! the link will show how he gets things spectacularly wrong with the history of his religion so can anyone really trust him to give a truthful book about the Quran?? never in a million years. it also shows how childish he is and how he belittles people all things sam and he have in common. Brother i would like you post more expose's of this guy so that no decent christian or non christian is duped by his book. the link is here

AA Brother,

I've also dedicated my time on my blog to defend Islam in a truthful and humble manner and I happened to come across some poor men who are so hard headed and lie about Islam. Well I tried to defend my religion but now there's a Jew and a Christian on my neck about my comments, trying to dissuade me from the path of Allah.

They're telling me what I say about the sharia is a lie, but I need more Muslims to help me.

I can care less what they believe but their spreading it to others and I can't handle two people against me so will you help? In the sake of Allah? Maybe there are things you may know more knowledge then I do.

Here's the post and the comments are bellow.

@maratsafin

Assalamualaikum

Well it is just outrageous to see folk attempting to gain cash and kudos from writing "books" about Islam all the while being unreliable and having little/no regard for accuracy and/or consistency.

This is the sad state of Christian apologetics. Absolutley full of folk who put themselves before the church in trying to build reputes of "expertise".

It seems as though the lure of kudos and a few dollars blinds Christian apologists from their shortcomings and robs them of their shame.

The fact remains, as you know, White should be reading books about Islam and not writing them. Sadly this axiom is no hurdle for White.

I can tell you there are a few things in the pipeline for early 2011 to highlight James White's lack of regard for accuracy, inconsistency and poor research.

I will have a look into your link - God willing.

In the mean time I have blogged about James White's potential book:

http://thefactsaboutislam.blogspot.com/2010/12/what-every-christian-needs-to-know.html

Thanks for the concern and the link.

Note: White's supporters may claim he has debated Muslims. That does not qualify someone to write a book about the Quran and profit from such an endeavour.

Furthermore, in the minds of the prudent, White's past blunders and record of intellectual dishonesty excludes him from the tier of those are sanctioned to write books concerning Islam.

Two terror strikes within two hours shook Lahore and Karachi on Tuesday despite a heightened security alert on account of Chehlum, leaving 15 people dead and wounding more than 70.
A teenager blew himself up in Lahore near a Chehlum procession, killing 11 people. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying they had targeted police.

About 90 minutes later, a motorcycle bomb went off in Karachi's Malir, killing four people, including three policemen.

The Lahore bombing took place near the Urdu Bazar when a teenager tried to join a Chehlum procession before detonating close to a police checkpoint.

"The bomber had strapped bombs to his body as well as carrying explosives in a bag," the city's police chief said.

"He tried to sneak into the procession and exploded himself when police stopped him for a body search at an outer checkpoint."

An hour and a half later, a second attack hit Karachi. "It was a suicide bombing. The bomber was riding a motorbike and carrying a bag in his hand, which had explosives in it. He struck one of our police mobile vans. The police were the target," a senior police official said.

LAHORE ATTACK

At least 11 people were killed and 71 injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a security picket at the Urdu Bazaar intersection on Circular Road on Tuesday.

The bomber, described by police officers to be in his early teens, was apparently seeking to get through to one of the two big congregations taking place in the city on the day.

The dead included three policemen and a woman who was apparently passing by when the bomb exploded. According to hospital sources, 15 of the injured were in critical condition.

The human bomb went off sometime before the procession to mark the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain was to pass by the Mori Darwaaza-Urdu Bazaar square, approaching the spot from the north, through the narrow lanes of the walled city....

Aslam Tareen, the Lahore city police chief, said Tuesday's bomber appeared to be aged about 15. He was wearing a suicide jacket and holding a black bag.

He blew himself up when he was being frisked. A few hours after the explosion that took place at around 5.30pm, it was being speculated whether the boy was a partner in the crime or had been hoodwinked by terrorists into carrying out the attack....

Another report said the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan had claimed responsibility for the attack, leading to doubts being expressed once again about the ability of the intelligence network....

While Rana Sanaullah argued that the blast could not be termed the result of a security lapse, people gathered for a chehlum procession in Rawalpindi demanded his sacking from the cabinet.

Leaders of the Shia and Barelvi communities have accused the minister of promoting certain extremist groups. The law minister denies the charge.

KARACHI BLAST

Meanwhile, at least four people, including three policemen and a passerby, were killed and four others wounded after a bomb rigged to a motorcycle went off in Malir on Tuesday.
The blast took place near a medical centre in Darakhshan Society on the Sharea Faisal, between Malir Halt and Malir 15, at a time when mourners were returning to their homes in Malir after taking part in a Chehlum procession....

World leaders issue their usual expressions of sorrow and outrage (not reproduced below; why bother?) -- but what will they end up doing to try to prevent another attack like this? Not much in the way of actual focus on the real perpetrators. "'I will kill you all': at least 35 die in Moscow airport bombing," by Maria Antonova and Stuart Williams for AFP, January 25:

A suicide bomber shouted ''I will kill you all'' before triggering the deadly blast that killed at least 35 people at Russia's Domodedovo airport, according to media reports.
The bomber carrying a suitcase walked into Moscow's busiest airport and set off a huge explosion today in the packed arrivals hall, in an attack slammed by the Kremlin and the world as an act of terror.[...]

The Emergencies Ministry said 35 people were killed, 86 hospitalised with injuries and 94 were given medical treatment.

The Guardian reported that up to 168 people were injured, many of them critically.

Witnesses said the bomber shouted: ''I will kill you all'', before triggering the blast that sent ball bearings and shrapnel across the airport, The Independent reported on its website on Tuesday.

America's CBS News said a man in blood-soaked clothes said he was just a few metres away from the explosion and saw a man who may have been the suicide bomber.

''I saw the suitcase, the suitcase was on fire,'' Artyom Zhilenkov, a 35-year-old driver, told CBS.

''So, either the man blew up something, or something went off on the man's body, or the suitcase went off.''

Mr Zhilenkov said he thought he had been severely injured, but doctors told him he was coated in other victims' blood.

''The guy standing next to me was torn to pieces,'' he said.

CBS correspondent Mark Phillips also said the bomber shouted: ''I will kill you all'' just before he detonated his explosives[.]

Russian investigators found a head of "Arab appearance" that is presumed to have belonged to the suicide bomber, Interfax said.

According to preliminary information, the bomber was a resident of the overwhelmingly Muslim Northern Caucasus region, Interfax said....

The Russian capital has been repeatedly rocked by attacks over the past few years blamed on militants from the Northern Caucasus region, where Russia has for years been battling an Islamist insurgency.

Double bombings carried out by two female suicide bombers on the Moscow metro on March 29, 2010, killed 40 and wounded more than 100.

The Kremlin fought two wars against separatist rebels in Chechnya in the 1990s but the insurgency has now become more Islamist in tone and has spread to neighbouring Ingushetia and Dagestan....
