Proof Islam Forbids Torture and Oppression

The Prophet warned against tormenting and torture

Due to the torture in places like Syria being current in the news coupled with the hateful manners of the Anti-Muslim brigade it's important to note that Islam does not allow torture. Keep this in mind as there may well be a group of Anti-Muslims which you come across on the internet wrongly claiming that Islam allows torture

Book 032, Number 6328:

Hisham reported on the authority of his father that Hisham b. Hakim b. Hizam happened to pass by people, the farmers of

Syria

, who had been made to stand in the sun. He said: What is the matter with them? They said: They have been detained for Jizya. Thereupon Hisham said: I bear testimony to the fact that I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Allah would torment those who torment people in the world.
