Justin Bieber Shows Muslims Respect in Turkey

According to reports Justin Bieber actually stopped one of his concerts in Istanbul (Turkey) to allow for the Azan (Muslim call to prayer) and prayers. This, alongside the Pope’s recent gesture of washing a Muslim’s feet may well help to stem the tide of right-winged hatred of Muslims within Western communities:

Justin Bieber stopped his concert in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday night during the Muslim call to prayer.

According to E! Online, Bieber paused his show at Istanbul's sold-out Technical University sports arena to allow for audience members to pray (a practice Muslims observe five times daily). Bieber's gesture was met with many positive notices on Twitter.

I hope Muslims in Turkey gave Justin Bieber an invitation to Islam and/or some information about Islam.

Insensitive: Norwegian TV show

Meanwhile, the Norwegian spoof TV show which was asking girls to ‘convert’ to Islam in exchange for Justine Bieber concert tickets (to highlight how far Justine Bieber fans would go to see him live) has been condemned by Bishop Halvor Nordhaug from the Norwegian Lutheran Church:

This is an example of an idea where irony and lack of respect turns into something tragic. I believe [the contest] is a foolish statement and it shows a lack of respect for what faith means,” he told the Norwegian news site Dagen.
