Muslims, Sikhs object to go-kart ban at California parks...
I'm not too sure what all this law suit action is all about. I've had a cursory look at the Boomers! Parks and Head Scarf situation, to me it seems solely to do with safety rather than any discrimination:
The parks ban all headwear on go-karts rides because it could get caught and injure a rider, said Michele Wischmeyer, a spokeswoman for Palace Entertainment Holdings, which owns Boomers. Scarves and baseball caps alike are not allowed, she said.
"It's not a matter of discrimination, race or religion," Wischmeyer said. "It's a matter of safety."
The company recently looked into revising its safety policy but decided against making exceptions for religious headdresses because it would pose too much of a safety risk, she said. [Source]
As Muslims we should have a reputation for caring for and respecting our women. Recently a Muslim country, UAE, was ranked best in the world for respecting women. We are taught by Islam to care about our women.
In this go-kart ban we should recognise that a Muslim has died in the past due to her hijab being caught in the go-kart in Australia:

Muslim woman dies as hijab is caught in go-kart axle
An Australian woman has died after the Islamic head dress that she was wearing was caught in the axle of a go-kart during a family outing to a racing track.
The woman, 26, suffered severe neck injuries and went into cardiac arrest after her hijab, which covers the head and neck, became stuck in the kart's machinery while she was driving at high speed.
Paramedics managed to revive the woman after material from the hijab tightened around her throat and she was airlifted to hospital, where she later died.
Local media reports said that her husband and children were at the track at the time.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident, which took place at the Port Stephens Go-Kart track on the New South Wales midcoast, and have seized the go-kart for forensic examination. [Telegraph]
May Allah give this lady paradise and protect other women, Muslim and NonMuslim from such harm on go-karts. Ameen.
So we as Muslims should recognise this decision by Bloomers! Parks to stop people who are wearing head gear from riding on go-karts is a decision in the interest of safety of OUR women. What's more important, riding a go-kart or having your sister/mother returning home safely?
BTW I'm not saying that hijabi sisters take off the hijab for a go-kart ride. I'm saying just don't bother with the go-kart ride full stop. Why put yourself at such a risk? Just don't use the go-kart. There's plenty of other attractions in a theme park to enjoy.
