A Passionate Muslim Response to Brannon Howse Defending James White - Exposing Robert Spencer and Usama Dakdok

Dear Brannon Howse

I will get into passionately defending Dr James White in a few moments but first I need to address you and your inconsistencies directly sir.

Sir, I agree there are Christians looking to build empires and are using their faith to make a few dollars and feed their egos. You, Mr Brannon Howse, are associated with two very such Christians.

Anybody, who has the ability to google ” Usama Dakdok” will know there is something very fishy about this “evangelist”. Some of the clouds hanging over this shady character are listed in the Usama Dakdok section. You have also appealed to what you deem to be "Christian behaviour" (i.e. respectful behaviour) to rebuke folks in a “secret Facebook group” mocking and attacking you, Shahram Hadian and Dakdok. It seems ironic, considering the man you roll with has a reputation for wild-eyed comments, malicious slander, dishonesty and mockery. In case I’ve lost you, I’m referring to your friend Usama Dakdok.

You are promoting liberalism indirectly too and Catholicism. You are also rolling with somebody who has seemingly railed against conservative Christian attitudes towards homosexuality. Step forward, Mr Robert Spencer. A younger version of you, the Christian activist Theodore Shoebat (son of the well known hardline Christian Walid Shoebat), has this to say about your liberal, anti-Bible and pro-homosexual (?) Catholic friend:

Spencer describes the author and the book as such: “Bruce Bawer is to be commended for his honesty and courage in writing this superb novel.” Robert Spencer expresses his own anti-Christian hatred in this line of his perverted article:

“Bawer is the author of the 1997 book Stealing Jesus: How Fundamentalism Betrays Christianity — an eloquent, impassioned rebuke to the judgmental fundamentalism in which, Bawer contended, all too many Christians place adherence to dogma, in particular that of the sinfulness of homosexual activity, above the demands of Christian charity.”

An anti-Christian book is described by Spencer, a supposed Catholic, as “an eloquent, impassioned rebuke” to “judgmental fundamentalism”. A Christian would never describe a sodomite book with such words.

You probably don’t know that Robert Spencer is on record saying Islam leads to Muslims leading fine, moral and upright lives. That is in complete odds with the fundamentalist Christians (those who hang with you?) who say Islam is from the devil – how is the devil leading people to live “fine, moral and upright lives”? You may want to take this up with Spencer.

You see, you railed against Dr James White but, if you’re consistent, you will be ranting about Usama  Dakdok, the Catholic who promotes liberalism (Robert Spencer) and, wait for it, somebody called Brannon Howse for associating with and promoting the two aforementioned gentlemen!

Sir, you have egg on your face. You may want to try to keep this off Worldview Weekend and hope this is not seen by your financial backers. If you are sincere, you will accept the points being made and recognise your inconsistencies. If you are willing to discuss this and debate what Dr White did as well as Christian doctrines I am willing to come on your show and defend Dr James White against Spencer and/or Dakdok as well as yourself. I understand minister James will not come on your show, I am willing to come on your show. Not for an interfaith dialogue! I am looking to come on the show to hold to account Usama Dakdok, defend brother White and imam Yasir, rebuke you as well as discuss the Bible and Christian doctrines. You see, I’m confident that I can show you difficulties with Christian beliefs (e.g. the Trinity, Hypostatic Union, Blood Atonement, Biblical inerrancy, etc.) and problems with the Bible (both internal and external issues).

The question here is, are you willing to hear what a Muslim has to say? We have put our lives in danger being salt and light for Christians in efforts to reach lost people. We’ve had death threats from people linked to a fundamentalist Christian group; we are not intimated by fundamentalists who are trying to prevent us from peacefully and lovingly reaching the lost. We are peace loving Muslims who want to reach out to your community. You may have watched one or two of brother White’s debates, he struggles in debates to defend ideas such as the Trinity, deity of Jesus and trustworthiness of the Bible. Perhaps that is why you are eagerly trying to close down dialogue. Truth outweighs church traditions. Seek the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Passionate defence of Minister White

Brannon Howse, you have attacked minister James White via straw-men arguments and misinformation. Sir, if you truly believe you have the Holy Spirit in you then surely you are a walking refutation to the belief the Holy Spirit dwells within Christians and guides them in scripture and daily life. Allow me to go into detail:

1. You’ve misrepresented brother White by misrepresenting his event with Dr Yasir Qadhi as an interfaith dialogue, it was not an interfaith dialogue about compromise and syncretism. It was a learning and teaching opportunity. Both respective audiences (Muslims at the mosque and Christians at the church) had an opportunity to learn about what the other respective faith teaches. It would be akin to a Christian going on to YouTube and listening to a lecture by somebody of another faith explaining what they believe. I, being involved in preaching the historical Jesus to Christians, regularly go to the best teachers Christianity has to offer in order to learn about aspects of their faith. I just finished reading some material written by the former archbishop of the Church of England the other day (Prof. Rowan Williams - I hope to use some of it to minister to Christians). I’ve learnt about the Trinity doctrine from folks like RC Sproul and Wayne Grudem – Christianity’s biggest names. I am in a church in the UK listening and learning as well as looking for opportunities to plant seeds. I've attended church organised gatherings where I have I moved people to acknowledge Jesus is not God and the Trinity is not biblical.

I do it because I love Christians. I want Christians to move away from, what rabbi Tovia Singer would call “idolatry”, the Trinity doctrine – a 4th century doctrine which Paul of Tarsus had no knowledge of. For me to do this, I must be familiar with what your religion and what your scholars actually teach. I encourage folks like James White and yourself to learn about Islam from Muslim scholars, that way you will see just how empty, shallow and fallacious the evangelical propaganda about Islam truly is - James White can attest to this as he has seen the type of wild-eyed rhetoric from folks like Robert Morey, Sam Shamoun, David Wood, Usama Dakdok Jay Smith and other low-level thinkers in the evangelical camp via-a-vis Islam. Search this site and you'll find a number of refutations of such low level polemics. Needless to say, James is increasingly avoiding such low-level polemics (although he is still using some arguments which are low level - I have his book and may do a book review).

2. You have made a big deal of half of this event taking place in a church (the other half taking place in a mosque). Minister White has explained it was a ticketed event and it was not a Sunday service.

3. Much has been made of James’ “kindred spirit” comment. Obviously he did not mean he and imam Qadhi shared the same theology and religion – he meant that both share conservative views on different religious sides who have both been involved in championing their respective orthodoxy and conservatism against a growing tide of liberalism in America (the type of liberalism you were indirectly promoting by having Robert Spencer!)

4. The biblical argument that minister White has gone against the Bible because he was “unequally yoked” with imam Qadhi is a disingenuous argument. This is not about marriage. Ironically, Sam Shamoun,  a friend of Dakdok's making money out of the Christian Islamophobia industry and a chief amongst those attacking brother James, also exegetes the verse as a reference to marrying and really close friendship to non Christians. One of Shamoun's friends, Jonathan McLartchie, regularly invites non Christians (atheists, Muslims, Mormons etc.) to present their beliefs to Christians in an apologetics academy.

6. Lastly concerning James' point about ISIS , smart Christians may have realised what James White was saying about the Islamic texts being inconsistent and thus Christians unable to make a definitive proclamation on whether Islam teaches ISIS teachings or not can be used against the Bible with regards to the Trinity idea and Christian soteriology. If James is consistent in believing the interpretation of a small fringe group being at odds with mainstream traditional Islamic beliefs makes the texts inconsistent then he will have tough questions to answer concerning modalism and Arminianism - leading to him denounce the Bible as inconsistent (that's if he is consistent) as he won't be able to appeal to taking scripture as a whole as modalists and Arminians have texts supporting their conclusions. Of course, as Muslims we would say ISIS decontextualising texts and not factoring into account the whole of the Islamic tradition. An example of this would be, terrorism, something which is not allowed according to Sharia yet ISIS carry out terrorist acts.

Is Brannon Howse Sponsoring a Liar in Usama Dakdok?

Brannon Howse's friend Usama Dakdok has been claiming to have studied Islamic Law whilst his fellow Egyptian Christian buddy (Christian Primce) claimed to be a qualified sharian law judge, Odd claim. Would some Christian evangelical be interested in trying to find out if Usama Dakdok is actually telling the truth. There's concern he may have lied to a church in the past too. Here's the video:

Usama Dakdok continues to lie about Islam. It's really sad that somebody who knows Arabic and English would lie like this.

Foolish Christian Argument 'that Quran Teaches Earth is Flat' Back-fires

Usama Dakdok spreads the false flat earth claim about the Quran. It's turned around on him. Refuted via a clip of Dr Jamal Badawi

This video is also uploaded here

I was in a discussion yesterday with a young Muslim struggling with his faith. He mentioned that he had read from sources critical to Islam that the Quran clearly contradicts known facts and represents the world-view of its time (7th century CE). And of the most blatant examples, according to him, was that the Quran clearly preaches that the world is flat. Now, I have said and firmly believe that the genre of 'scientific miracles in the Quran' that we all grew up reading is in fact a dangerous genre, because it reads in 'facts' where no such facts exist, and because it posits one's faith on a purely scientific basis (so that when 'science', which is ever-evolving, might seem to contradict the Quran, this will lead to a weakness of faith). Nonetheless, to claim that the Quran preaches that the world is flat is an outrageous claim. In fact there is unanimous consensus amongst medieval Muslim scholars to the contrary.

Ibn Hazm (d. 1064 CE), wrote over a thousand years ago in his book al-Fisal, "I do not know of a single scholar worth the title of scholar who claims other than that the earth is round. Indeed the evidences in the Quran and Sunnah are numerous to this effect" [al-Fisal, v. 2 p. 78].

Ibn Taymiyya (d. 1328 CE), someone who is typically accused of literalism, wrote that there is unanimous consensus of all the scholars of Islam that the world is round, and that reality and perception also proves this, for, as he writes, it is well known that the Sun sets on different peoples at different times, and does not set on the whole world at the same time. In fact, writes Ibn Taymiyya, it is truly an ignorant person who claims that the earth is not round. [Majmu al-Fatawa, v. 6, p. 586]. And there are many others scholars, such as al-Razi, who wrote on this subject, and I do not know of any medieval scholar who held another view.

All of this shows the necessity of gaining Islamic knowledge from reputable sources, and from verifying anything you read from the people of knowledge.

Barack Obama is a Christian and Jesus is a Muslim

Shockingly there are still some American Christians who believe President Obama is a Muslim. In this video we cite two clips where President Barack Obama says he is a Christian. One would imagine this is enough to prove Barack Obama is not a Muslim.

Pastor Usama Dakdok is one of those Christians who vigorously espouses the idea that Barack Obama is not a Christian but a Muslim. In this video we see how nutty this pastor appears to be. He claims 'if Obama is a Christian then Jesus is a Muslim'. He even called Jeremiah Wright's church and (deceptively?) asked to join the church in order to investigate President Obama's faith status.

There's no need for these nutty right-wing pastors such as Usama Dakdok to go all CIA/FBI on President Obama; he has admitted he is a Christian.

More Falsehood: Prophet Muhammad Killed 4 million Christians in Egypt (Another Usama Dakdok Falsehood)

Here we have a Christian (Usama Dakdok) presenting a blatant falsehood by claiming Prophet Muhammad killed 4 million of his Coptic Christians in Egypt and raped them too. This nutty Coptic Christian needs to be told Prophet Muhammad (p) never went to Egypt!

This is the sad state of the internet - it's awash with moon-bats such as this Usama Dakdok who present the most obvious falsehoods out there!

If the video does not play, please see:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57qSUGqyf8Q

For the information of anybody who wants to cut through the misinformation of right-winged-evangelical-Christians:

Prophet Muhammad (p) never went to Egypt. His earthly life had passed when Egypt fell into Muslim hands

Amr ibn al-Aas was the Muslim leader who captured Egypt from the Byzantines roughly ten years after the passing away of Prophet Muhammad (p)

Usama Dakdok is a Coptic Christian and his people were persecuted at the hands of the Byzantine Christians and viewed with relief the over-throwing of Byzantine rule by the Muslims:

In Egypt itself, Cyrus had already alienated large number of Copts by the savagery of his religious persecution and they began to desert the Roman cause. Determined to resume negotiations, he hastily signed an agreement in November 641 surrendering the whole of Egypt to the Arabs. Almost a year had passed since Cyrus concluded with Amr the first peace treaty, which had been contemptuously torn up by Heraclius. The terms of the new treaty were severe for the Byzantines, who were forced to leave this rich province with eleven months’ grace but the local Christians and the Jews received the same treatment which had previously been accorded to the ‘People of the Book’ in Syria, Palestine and Iraq.
The garrison of Babylon had already surrendered two months after the  death of Heraclius, and six months later Amr started building a permanent military camp, named Fustat, near this fortress. The military colony later grew into a thriving metropolis and continued to be the Muslim capital of Egypt until 973, when the Fatimids [909-1171] made the new city of Cairo, found near it (in 969), the seat of their government. Alexandria (capital of Hellenic Egypt), like the rest of the country was evacuated by the Byzantine army in September 642 in accordance with the Cyrus-Amr peace treaty, and was occupied by the Arabs. Thus came to an abrupt end the Byzantine rule in Egypt, and the Copts viewed it with relief. Cyrus had died earlier in March 642.

In 642, Amr ibn al-Aas built a mosque , which bears his name and still in use , to the north of the Babylon fortress, and was the first mosque to be built in Egypt. [Taken from: A Chronology of Islamic History 570-1000 CE, Ta-Ha Publishers, 4th Edition p.72-73]

Christians really need to stop inviting folk such as Usama Dakdok to their churches and gatherings if they value honesty and accuracy.

FrontPageMag: 'Scholar' of Islam Exposed - Usama Dakdok

David Horowitz's FrontPageMag has described Pastor Usama Dakdok of StraightWay Grace Ministry as a 'scholar' yet we find Usama Dakdok does not even know basic Islamic eschatology despite claiming to have been educated on Islam in Egyptian school, college and university.

We have already seen, Usama Dakdok who is selling a book which he styles as a 'translation' of the Quran (which he names 'The Generous Quran') is ignorant of classical Arabic.

It does not look good for Usama Dakdok who has seen his honesty, educational background and qualifications all tarnished. I believe it's time for Usama Dakdok to come clean - he's fooled a few and made a bit of cash - it is over now Usama.

More Deception from Usama Dakdok of The Straight Way Ministry

Here we have it folks. The latest Eastern Christian in the West to utterly discredit himself and show himself up as the fraud and charlatan he is. I guess that’s another one to throw in the heap with the Caner brothers, Kamal Saleem, Sam Shamoun, Walid Shoebat et al

Video also uploaded here

In this video we see Usama Dakdok blatantly lying about the meaning of the first Verse of the Quran. You can check ANY reputable translation of the Quran and you will realise Pastor Usama Dakdok was simply lying. Ask any Arabic speaker and they will tell you he was lying as there’s no way an Arab speaker would make such a mistake unintentionally. See here for more information:

We see him unable to understand the depth of the Arabic language – he didn’t even know what Allahu Akbar meant yet he is selling his ‘translation’ of the Quran for over $20 dollars on his website! See here for more information on the meaning of AllahuAkbar:

Pastor Usama Dakdok deliberately mistranslates s:8:30 and s3:54 in order to claim ‘the Quran tells you Allah is the best of deceivers’. However, looking at the two Quranic Verses I realised, the context, the commentary literature and ALL 8 of the translations I checked (by Muslims and non-Muslims) disagree with him. The context indicates to us, as well as the tafsar literature and the translators that the two Verses (s8:30 and s3:54) are telling us Allah is the Best of Planners. See here for more information on this:

Coptic Christian Missionary Deceit

I just came across a blatant lie from a Coptic Christian missionary who in his presentation claimed the words رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ  [rabbil3alameen] in the first Verse of Sura Al-Fatiha means ‘Lord of the world’. This is inaccurate. The Coptic Christian missionary (who knows Arabic) was simply distorting the meaning in order to try and form a misguided polemic to fit with his understanding of 2 Corinthians 4:4.

So what does  this word mean ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ

It does not mean ‘world’. The Arab Christian knows this. This is a plural word so will not refer to a singular. The singular is 3alam and this word has two plurals: 3alamoon [this is relevant as it’s ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ in a different case] and 3waalim.

The Hans Wehr dictionary states 3alamoon means: inhabitants of the world, specif. human beings.

Edward William Lane’s Lexicon states it: signifies the [several] sorts of created beings or things [or all the sorts thereof: or the beings of the universe or of the whole world]

Dr Mohsin Khan’s translation of the Verse:

All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

Usama Dakdok is Similar to Ergun Caner [Correcting Usama Dakdok on his 'The Generous Quran' title]

Usama Dakdok's Ignorance on the Front Page
A Quick Arabic Education for Usama Dakdok

For those who are unaware, Usama Dakdok is a charlatan who has ‘translated’ the Quran in English (being retailed on his site for ‘donations’ of $24.95 or $44.95) despite not having any qualifications at all nor any real training in classical Arabic.

I was going through some of his material on ABN and this guy’s brazen foolishness and lack of Arabic skills struck me. He even translated the title  القران الكريم as ‘the generous Quran’. In his animated style he challenges folk to go and look in any dictionary regarding the word كريم (kareem) convinced the meaning is generous and not holy or glorious.

The man really makes himself look silly. كريم when used with regards to a person can mean generous however when used with regards to a book the meaning is going to be different. Common sense dictates this.

The Hans Wehr dictionary translates كريم in many ways including 'decent', 'noble' and 'distinguished'. ‘Decent’ is a synonym for ‘good’ in English – in turn this is a synonym for ‘holy’ so the translation of ‘holy’ is no conspiracy Usama! The same applies to the translation of ‘glorious’ as the word distinguished is a synonym of ‘glorious’ in English.

Usama Dakdok would do well to actually read the dictionary definitions of the words he is going to comment on especially if he is going to go against popular translations. I assume he knows how to use an Arabic dictionary.

I guess the following construction in the mind of Usama Dakdok will mean a generous stone and not a precious stone

حجر كريم

Usama Dakdok, we know you’re a charlatan sadly the Americans in the churches and gatherings you frequent actually think you are a man in the know. I’d imagine they are your cash-cows for now. Usama Dakdok, if you’re ignorance is highlighted on the FRONT COVER of your translation through the TITLE we only worry as to the accuracy of the contents…

Note: Dakdok does not fit ANY of Ahmed Von Denffer’s educational requirements for translating the Quran in English.

Hate Comes to Ohio – Tea Party and Usama Dakdok

You just could not make it up. After the debacle in Orange County you’d think the Tea Party would have been a little more cautious for their Ohio meeting [1]. Sadly common sense and the right wing don’t mix.

The Tea Party have enlisted the services of an Arab (Copt) Islamophobe (Usama Dakdok). Yes, an Arab anti-Muslim bigot who will (no doubt) be blabbering on about how all Muslims are killing machines (better and scarier than terminator!!!).

Erm, if that Islamophobic drivel was true, Mr Usama Dakdok would not be living. The same applies to the ~10 million Coptic Christians in the Arab world. I guess that’s why most folk don’t take Arab Islamophobes seriously

Who is Usama Dakdok?

Usama Dakdok is an Anti-Muslim bigot whom we featured in 2010 due to his crazed Islamophobic ranting. He claimed there is “no good Muslim”, Muslims are “demons”.

He gets WACKIER as he believes Barack Obama is Muslim [2].

Oh, just for good measure, he’s also a charlatan. He has “translated” the Quran despite possessing no relevant academic credentials and a failure to meet ANY of Von Denffer’s criteria for a translator of the Quran.

It get’s worse still as old Usama is a bit of a salesman too as he has been selling his translation as the only true translation and has suggested his “translation” is the first translation by a Non-Muslim. MANY Non-Muslim translations have been produced prior to Mr Dakdok’s “effort” – George Sale, J Rodwell, AJ Arberry and EH Palmer. [3]

Tea Party's charlatan

In my brief exchange with Usama Dakdok, after exposing the fact Mr Dakdok does not meet Von Denffer's criteria to translate the Quran, he claimed to have had support from professors, doctors (from Al Azhar university) whilst "translating" the Quran. He even claimed "ex-muslims" from Al Azhar university had helped him too!!!
I asked for names. He supplied no names at all. Nothing but silence. It's amazing how this blog turns the most talkative into mutes...
The man is a charlatan. Sadly, there is a ton of them within the evangelical community.

Christians buying fancy cars for bigots

Arab Islamophobes are never taken seriously, but some (i.e. Shoebat, Saleem, Botros et al) do make cash – quite a substantial amount – through their fertile imaginations and the gullibility of the evangelical Christian community in America.

It looks like old Usama Dakdok is coining it in too:

I've heard reports out of Clay City that at least where Dakdok's car is concerned, he seems to be doing quite well for himself. [2]

The Usama Dakdok Scandal on ABN SAT

For all the Usama Dakdok related posts please see: http://thefactsaboutislam.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Usama%20Dakdok Update on Usama Dakdok of The Straight Way Ministry, click: More Deception from Usama Dakdok of The Straight Way Ministry

Meet Pastor Usama Kamel Dakdok and his Hatred

Never heard of him? Me too, till I saw him drop a few clangers on Samar Gorial’s show on ABNSat . This “Christian” missionary worked himself into a frenzy of hatred; a frenzy which apparently culminated into Usama Dakdok spouting a foul word*. Yes, we bring you ANOTHER scandal from an ABN show. Why do some fundamentalist Christians keep us so busy with their debauched  and money-hungry ways?

Who is Usama Dakdok?

He is from Egyptian stock and functions out of “thestraightway” ministry. His claim to fame is his “translation” of the Quran - which he is selling on his site for a whopping £24.95 dollars. For those in the know concerning classical Arabic; Usama Dakdok is far from qualified to translate such a text. I guess his lack of expertise and study has not stopped him from entering such an enterprise; I wonder if it as financially lucrative as he first imagined.

If you have bought his translation, which he styles as the only “true” translation then you have well and truly been duped. Dakdok does not fit ANY of Von Denffer’s educational requirements for translating the Quran in English.

Here is Usama Dakdok Demonstrating his Ineptness via Video (warning bad language):

The Synopsis of Usama Dakdok’s address to Shadeed Lewis on ABN’s “Jihad Exposed”

I know the show seems to have a bizarre title but let’s leave that for now and concentrate on the foul mouth of Usama Dakdok. On the show he is confronted by a caller (MDI’s Shadeed Lewis) and Dakdok just goes off the handle.

Was Usama Dakdok possessed?

Really? Have a look at the footage yourself. He starts calling all Muslims deceivers, loses his composure and is generally ranting and raving whilst insulting Islam and Muslims.

Usama Dakdok’s bigotry, insults and bad language*

Dakdok suggests, in his shaky English, all Muslims following the Quran are Jihadists and ALL Muslims are demons, he calls Allah (God) and the Prophet deceivers.

In the end it appears as though Dakdok called Lewis an “a**” whilst strangling his expression (LATER CLARIFIED AS "ASK" BY DAKDOK, SEE BELOW). The other guest (Anjem Choudry) on the show accuses Usama Dakdok of “barking like a dog”; such was Dakdok’s crazed manner!

The big evangelical con

Does Usama Dakdok really want to be taken seriously as a translator? Nobody in the academic community considers him to be credible and those in the lay community have realised the man seems to have some real issues which point him out to be the charlatan the academic community consider him to be.

*Usama Dakdok contacted me, on the bad language issue he said:
"You have accused me of speaking foul language and I assure you that I never have or never will use any foul language. If you listen carefully to the video you posted you will hear that the word I said was "ask" not "a**" as you claimed."

NOTE: I believe Usama Dakdok's explanation as I received a comment from an individual claiming Dakdok said "let's ask" and not "this ask", his accent is pretty heavy at times. Nevertheless, he did not use bad language. Thus we can disregard that particular critique.

I do notice  he refrained from commenting on the rest of the outburst; he called all Muslims "demons" and went on a general insult spree!

My thanking the commenter:
Ahh yes...it makes sense now. If the "this" is "lets" then it makes sense. I have listened to it a few times to check for your explanation and it seems to hold water. For that reason I will private the video; and reupload an edited one.
I really appreciate your fairness. May Allah reward you with more good
Peace
